"Jungkook, do you want to eat anything more."
"Uhm no, it's all spicy, I think i need something to cool down my burning mouth now." Jungkook spoke, his voice still deep and intense. He himself didn't knew what he meant by cooling his burningness, But he was sure that he didn't meant only his mouth which was burning but something else too.
Jin nodded as he bid goodbye to Mrs. Lee, and the two left the stall. Jin then bought ice creams for them as they walked together on the calm road, the sky becoming darker and darker. Jungkook, eating his ice cream, suddenly realized something and asked, "Aren't we supposed to pay?"
"Yes."
"So why didn't we?"
"I did."
"Why? I was supposed to pay," Jungkook blurts out, confusion evident in his voice.
"Why do you think you're the one who's supposed to pay? I took you here, so I can pay, right? But if it upsets you, you can pay next time. You pay once, I pay once. That's how things work," Jin explained with a smile as he licked his ice cream.
As they walked down the street, Jin chatted animatedly about various topics, his voice light and cheerful. He was usually a quiet person, but he talked a lot when he got comfortable. Jungkook would normally find it annoying, but now he couldn't help but find himself getting lost in Jin's words, the sound of his laughter and giggles like music to his ears.
Jungkook shook his head, trying to stop staring at Jin already and asked, confusedly staring at him, then looking down at the ground before asking, "Where are we going?" Trying to shift his thoughts away from thinking about Jin nonstop.
"Um... here, there was supposed to happen... when will it, I wonder," Jin wondered aloud, thoroughly licking his ice cream, confusing Jungkook. They stood at an empty bridge under the dark nightfall with stars glittering, something Jungkook never used to notice before, but he started to after meeting Jin.
Suddenly, their attention diverted when the sky erupted with colorful fireworks. Jungkook's eyes got stuck on them as he found them very colorful.
"Happy birthday, Jungkook," Jin said softly.
Jungkook's eyes widened as he glanced at Jin, shocked by the sudden wish. He blinked in surprise, feeling a sudden rush of emotions filling up his chest. He hadn't actually expected Jin to remember, even though he had mentioned it just a few hours ago. He hadn't expected anything in return; it was new for him. Birthdays were never something special to him. But for the first time, just a simple wish from Jin's lips gave him a feeling he had never felt before.
"I just found out about it today, so I couldn't do anything in return. I'm sorry... You can accept it as a small gift," Jin spoke as he handed a small pot of flowers to Jungkook. Jungkook looked surprised as he examined it.
"It's a small cactus."
"When did you get it?"
"I guess you were busy walking that you didn't notice the little stall of plants from where I bought it. I knew the uncle, and he gave it to me. It's a small plant. You won't have to do much in taking care of it. It will grow itself. I know it's nothing. You can just ignore it-"
"Th-thank you, Jin," Jungkook spoke out, cutting Jin off as he took the pot and stared at it, a smile tugging at his lips. Soon, he felt shocked. Did he just say thank you? And how could he feel such a good sensation just from a simple gift? It also looked so cheap. But how could it give him such gladness? That was so unlike him. Jin sure made him do and feel things he never even thought of doing or feeling, he didn't even knew this kind of feelings existed.
