A week later, Jin sat casually in Jungkook’s arms, his fingers tracing Jungkook's veins. He couldn't see so he enjoyed playing on it. While Jungkook, with his other free hand, sipped on the special tea his Jin had prepared for him. The room was quiet, filled only with the comfortable sounds of their presence.
"Kook, I’m planning to go home," Jin said, his voice soft but clear.
Jungkook choked on his tea, his eyes widening as he turned to face Jin. "Huh? What? Why?"
Jin smiled, tilting his head slightly. "Not much, just to meet my mom. It's been a while since we’ve talked. She’s been telling me for a long time about getting my eye surgery, but I never agreed. I didn't have a real reason to get my eyes fixed... but now..." He trailed off, a shy smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he fidgeted with his hands.
Jungkook, still a bit confused, furrowed his brows. "What is it?"
Jin raised his eyebrows, a playful smirk crossing his face. "Are you teasing me? You know very well what reason I have."
"Ah, right..." Jungkook chuckled, feeling a bit embarrassed, realizing exactly what Jin meant.
"That's why I want to go and tell her about this news," Jin continued, his smile growing softer. "And... I want you to go with me, to meet my mom. I've told her about you a long time ago. She’d love to meet you."
Jungkook’s eyes lit up with a mix of excitement and nervousness. "Mother-in-law!" he exclaimed, causing Jin to burst into laughter, his chest shaking as he leaned back against Jungkook.
Jungkook couldn’t help but smile as well, feeling his heart swell with warmth. "You really want me to meet her?"
"Of course, silly," Jin said, wiping a tear of laughter from his eye. "You’re important to me, and she’s important too. It only makes sense."
Jungkook nodded, a soft grin playing on his lips as he leaned down to press a gentle kiss on Jin’s temple. "I’d love to meet her."

.Later that evening, Jungkook was pacing back and forth in the living room, his brows furrowed in concentration. Jin, sitting comfortably on the couch, heard him sighing nonstop with an amused smile.
"What’s going on in that big head of yours?" Jin asked, leaning back as he sipped his tea.
Jungkook paused mid-step and turned to face Jin with a serious expression. "I’m thinking about how to impress your mom," he said, sounding genuinely concerned. "What if she doesn’t like me? What if I say the wrong thing? What if I—"
Jin burst out laughing, almost spilling his tea. "Kook, stop overthinking! My mom is the sweetest person ever. She’ll love you just for being you."
"That’s easy for you to say!" Jungkook grumbled, sitting down next to Jin, crossing his arms over his chest. "I’ve never had to meet anyone’s mom like this before. I don’t know if I should bring flowers or—wait, does she like flowers? Should I bring a gift?"
Jin snickered, leaning into him, playfully poking his side. "You could just show up. Trust me, she’s not going to care about gifts. She’ll care about how much you love me."
Jungkook’s face softened as he gazed at Jin. "I love you more than anything, but what if I get nervous and say something stupid?"
"Like what?" Jin raised an eyebrow.
Jungkook paused, his mind racing. "What if I accidentally call her ‘Mom’ too soon? What if I mess up and talk about that time I almost burned the kitchen down making you breakfast?"
Jin’s laughter filled the room again as he shook his head. "If you call her ‘Mom’ on the first meeting, she’ll probably cry tears of joy. As for the kitchen disaster… maybe avoid mentioning that for now."
Jungkook leaned back on the couch with a groan, covering his face with his hands. "I’m doomed."
Jin scooted closer, wrapping his arms around Jungkook’s waist and resting his head on his chest. "You’re going to be perfect, Kook. Just be yourself, and she’ll love you. Besides..." he added with a mischievous grin, "if you get too nervous, I’ll distract her by telling embarrassing stories about you."
Jungkook peeked out from behind his hands, his eyes wide. "You wouldn’t dare."
Jin giggled, kissing his cheek. "Try me."
Jungkook groaned again, but a smile was forming on his lips. "I’m going to need all the luck in the world for this."
"You’ve got me," Jin whispered, leaning in to press a soft, lingering kiss on Jungkook’s lips. "And that’s all the luck you need."
Jungkook kissed him back, feeling his worries melt away, at least for now. But in the back of his mind, he was still making a mental checklist of things he needed to do before meeting Jin’s mom. Because if he was going to impress her, he was going to do it right.
While lost in thought, Jungkook suddenly remembered something he had to take care of. "Oh, before we head to Busan, I need to finish up some work, okay?" he said, glancing over at Jin.
Jin raised an eyebrow, curious. "What work?"
"Just a quick meet-up with Jimin and Taehyung. Don’t worry about it; I’ll be back soon. You can start packing by then," Jungkook reassured him, leaning in to plant a soft kiss on Jin’s forehead.
Jin smiled and nodded, trusting Jungkook as he watched him leave the room. Jungkook felt a rush of excitement and mischief as he made his way down to his basement, a smirk creeping across his face.

.Today, Jimin and Taehyung were present in the basement along with Jungkook. Jimin's eyes widened in shock at the sight of Taeseong, who lay on the floor in a pitiful state. His body was covered in injuries, eyes closed, blood dripping from various wounds, and burn marks dotted his skin. Food lay scattered around him—evidence of Jungkook's cruel treatment. Taehyung and Yoongi, though a bit surprised, maintained a casual demeanor, while Jimin and Hoseok exchanged worried glances.
"Jungkook," Jimin said, his voice tense. "How long are you going to keep doing this? He’s near death!"
"Not my problem," Jungkook replied with a smirk, completely unfazed. It was as if he didn’t care about the suffering in front of him.
Taehyung, leaning against the wall, shrugged. "As long as no one finds out, we’re good. Besides, it’s not like anyone’s going to miss him."
Yoongi nodded in agreement, casually fiddling with his phone. "Yep, this was inevitable. Honestly, surprised he lasted this long."
Jungkook stood up and wiped his hands as if he had been doing some dirty work, though he hadn’t even touched Taeseong. "Anyway, I’m off to meet my mother-in-law tomorrow," he said, completely shifting the topic as if nothing had happened.
Jimin blinked, taken aback by the abrupt change in conversation. "Your what?"
"My mother-in-law," Jungkook repeated, this time with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes. "Jin wants to have eye surgery. My baby wants to see me,” Jungkook said, a shy smile creeping onto his face. "So tomorrow morning after I meet her. Also, you guys make sure to find the best eye surgeon in the country."
"Got it," Taehyung replied, trying to keep the mood light despite the grim situation.
"Good luck with that," Yoongi added, crossing his arms as he observed Jungkook’s nonchalance.
"Okay but..." Jimin glanced at Taeseong again, then back at Jungkook, disbelief still evident on his face. "How are you so calm about this? You’re acting like this," he motioned to the near-dead man on the floor, "isn’t happening."
"No one cares." Jungkook said, then cast a glance at Taeseong, who lay motionless. "Guess he’s about to die. If he does, please make sure to deal with his body. Burn or dig him into the ground, No one, especially my Jin, should know about it."
The atmosphere grew tense as Jimin and Hoseok exchanged uneasy looks, both silently questioning how far Jungkook was willing to go...for Jin...
