Jungkook was busy munching on the chips, lost in his thoughts about the weird feelings he was experiencing around Jin. His train of thought was interrupted by the sound of a phone ringing. He was surprised to see it was Jin's phone.
Maybe because of Jin not being able to see, his phone had a function to call out the ID name to let the one who can't see know who is calling. The ID was saying "Him."
Only him? What kind of id name is that? Jungkook wondered.
Jin instantly shifted uncomfortably as he hurriedly cut the call and switched his phone off, making Jungkook confused.
"Who was that?" Jungkook asked, his brows furrowing.
"Just a friend," Jin replied awkwardly, his voice uneasy.
Jungkook felt a surge of annoyance. He thought he was Jin's one and only first friend. Does that mean Jin lied to him? And why did Jin look so uncomfortable after the call?
"Just a friend?" Jungkook repeated, his tone skeptical. "You looked pretty uncomfortable for it to be just a friend."
Jin bit his lip, feeling cornered. "It's... complicated."
"Complicated how?" Jungkook pressed, his irritation growing. "You can tell me."
Jin hesitated, clearly struggling with how much to reveal. "It's nothing you need to worry about, Jungkook. Just someone from my past."
"Someone from your past? That doesn't sound like 'just a friend' to me," Jungkook said, crossing his arms. "Are you hiding something from me?"
"It's not like that," Jin said quickly, trying to placate him. "It's just... personal. I didn't mean to make you feel like I was hiding anything."
Jungkook's irritation didn't subside. "Why didn't you tell me you had other friends? You made it seem like I was your only one." he was really annoyed thinking Jin being close with someone else other than him.
Jin sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's not that simple. Yes, you're my first real friend, really, but I knew people before... it's just... complicated."
Jungkook's eyes narrowed. "I don't like secrets, Jin."
"I know, and I'm sorry," Jin said, looking genuinely apologetic. "I didn't mean to upset you. I just... I don't want to think about it or talk about it. I am sorry."
"Really? Why not? Why can't I know? Aren't we friends?" Jungkook asked, his patience running thin. He badly wanted to know who it was.
"Which friend is it? Male or female? Close or far? How close are you two? Is he in our college? Do you two talk a lot? Do you cook like this for him too? Did he eat these chips? Did you also make him your special tea? Does he know about me? Does he know that i don't like to share?!"
Jin, not being able to focus on Jungkook's barrage of questions, said nervously, "Jungkook, we aren't close. Don't worry, that tea I made is only for you. My mother taught me to make it. It was my favorite and, other than me and my mom, you're the only one who was able to drink it. Really. It's a special tea, and I wanted to make it for someone who is special to me."
Jungkook went silent, hearing Jin's words. "S-special?"
"Yes, you're my first ever friend with whom I felt so happy and comfortable. You are special to me. That's why I made this tea for you and let you taste it. I was happy that you seem to like it a lot. I will be happy to make it for you again and again." Jin smiled.
Jungkook suddenly felt hot out of nowhere, realizing his cheeks were reddening. He was blushing. Really? Blushing? Him? The Jeon Jungkook is blushing? What the... Jungkook felt horrible. He also felt relief knowing Jin couldn't see and wouldn't be able to see his red cheeks.
