The night grew deeper, and the quiet atmosphere between them felt comforting. They had shared a simple dinner and now sat side by side on Jin's bed. The air was peaceful, almost too still, until the sudden sound of rain filled the room. It came out of nowhere, a soft yet persistent downpour tapping against the window next to Jin's bed.
Jungkook's gaze was drawn to the rain, his eyes following each droplet sliding down the glass. The rhythmic sound of the rain seemed to lull Jin into a sense of calm as he rested in Jungkook's embrace. He had nestled against Jungkook, finding warmth and comfort in the familiar hold, yet his thoughts were far away, tangled with memories and emotions that he couldn't quite shake.
Jin's breathing slowed, but the tension in his body told Jungkook that something was weighing on him. His fingers gently traced patterns on Jin's arm, silently waiting for Jin to speak if he wanted to.
After a long pause, Jin took a deep breath, his chest rising and falling with the effort. It was as if he was trying to gather the courage to say something that had been buried for too long. His fingers curled into Jungkook's shirt, clutching it for support as he finally spoke.
"W-would you want to know it now?" Jin's voice was small, almost lost in the sound of the rain. He didn't look up, his head still resting against Jungkook's chest, but the weight of his words filled the space between them.
Jungkook's heart skipped a beat. He didn't need to ask what Jin was referring to. He knew Jin meant the truth, the secrets that had been haunting him. Jungkook had been waiting-patiently, though it tore at him-but now, hearing Jin's hesitant voice, he knew Jin was ready to open up.
Jungkook tightened his arms around Jin, his voice soft yet steady as he replied, "Only if you're ready, baby. I'll listen whenever you want to tell me." His tone was gentle, though beneath it was a fierce determination. He would take in every word, every piece of Jin's pain, and hold it as his own.
Jin's grip on Jungkook's shirt tightened even more, as if he needed to hold on to something solid before he let the storm inside him break free.
"I am ready now...only it scares me...thinking it may make you stop liking me..."Jin's whisper felt like a dagger to Jungkook's heart. He could hear the fear, the vulnerability behind those words, and it nearly broke him. How could Jin think anything, any truth, would change the way he felt?
Jungkook immediately pulled Jin even closer, his hand moving to cup the back of his head, holding him gently but firmly. His voice was tender but filled with conviction as he spoke.
"Jin... nothing you say could ever make me stop liking you. Nothing." He pressed his lips to the top of Jin's head, his breath warm against his hair. "You have no idea how much I care for you, how deep this goes. Whatever it is, it won't change a thing. If anything... it'll make me want to protect you even more."
Jin's body trembled slightly against Jungkook's chest, the weight of his emotions pressing down on him. He buried his face deeper into Jungkook's embrace, as if afraid to even look up and see any sign of doubt.
"I... I don't know," Jin murmured. "I just... don't want to lose you. Not you." His voice cracked, and Jungkook could feel the tears welling up again.
"You won't lose me," Jungkook whispered firmly, his thumb brushing against Jin's temple in a soothing motion. "I promise, Jin. I'm not going anywhere. Whatever happened in the past... I'm with you now, and I'll be with you through everything."
Jin's breath hitched as he took another shaky inhale, his hands clutching at Jungkook's shirt even tighter. After a moment, he exhaled, his grip loosening just a little as if Jungkook's words were sinking in, giving him the courage to keep going.
