Jin's breath hitched as he sat up, feeling the emptiness on the bed beside him. His heart pounded in his chest, the familiar ache of fear settling in. He stretched his hand across the sheets, hoping to find the warmth of Jungkook still lingering there. But there was nothing-only the cold fabric beneath his fingers. His pulse quickened as dread began to bubble up.
J-Jungkook? he thought frantically, swallowing the panic rising in his throat. The last remnants of sleep left his mind as his fear from the past, the fear of abandonment, clawed its way to the surface. He stood up, his legs feeling weak as his heart raced. No, not again... please...
"Jungkook?" Jin's voice trembled as he called out, slowly making his way out of the bedroom. The quietness of the house only intensified his fear, the silence mocking him.
Just as he reached the hallway, he heard it-a voice, warm and familiar.
"Oh, baby, you're awake! Good morning!" Jungkook's cheerful voice rang out from the kitchen, and Jin's heart leaped in relief. He stopped in his tracks, frozen for a moment as the tension left his body all at once.
Jungkook quickly wiped his hands clean and hurried over to Jin, wrapping his arms around him in a tight embrace. "I'm right here," he murmured softly against Jin's ear, sensing the fear that had been gnawing at him.
Jin melted into the embrace, his shaky hands gripping onto Jungkook's shirt as if to make sure he wouldn't disappear again. His heartbeat slowed, calming in the safety of Jungkook's arms. "I-I thought you left... I woke up and you weren't there..." Jin's voice was quiet, still tinged with the vulnerability of his earlier fear.
Jungkook pulled back slightly, just enough to look at Jin's face, brushing a soft kiss on his forehead. "I'm sorry, baby. I didn't mean to scare you," he said gently. "I wanted to surprise you by making breakfast. You always cook for me, so I thought I'd give it a try." He chuckled, his tone playful. "But... turns out cooking isn't really my thing."
Jin managed a soft laugh, the weight in his chest slowly lifting. "You... you tried to cook?" he asked, his lips curving into a small smile.
"Yeah," Jungkook said, looking a bit sheepish. "It didn't go as planned, though. I may have burnt a few things." He ran his hand through his hair, embarrassed, but his voice held a warmth that eased Jin's remaining fears.
Jin, still clinging to him, felt a surge of affection wash over him. The thought of Jungkook trying, even if it wasn't successful, meant everything to him. "You didn't have to..." Jin whispered, but the smile never left his lips.
"I know," Jungkook said, tightening his grip on Jin's waist. "But I wanted to. I want to do things for you. I want you to feel like you don't always have to be the one giving." His voice lowered slightly, becoming more serious as he gazed into Jin's eyes. "You're not alone anymore, Jin. You don't have to carry everything on your own."
Jin's heart swelled, and he leaned his head against Jungkook's chest, letting the comfort of his words sink in. It felt so foreign, yet so right, to let someone take care of him, to feel like he wasn't the only one responsible for holding everything together.
"I know," Jin whispered softly. "Thank you."
Jungkook smiled, his hands moving to gently cup Jin's face. "Now, how about we forget about the breakfast I ruined and I take you out for something to eat? Or... if you're feeling brave, we can still eat whatever I managed to save." He chuckled lightly.
Jin laughed quietly, nodding. "As long as it's not burnt, I'm willing to try it."
Jungkook grinned, pressing a quick kiss to Jin's lips before stepping back and taking his hand. "Good. But i don't want you to eat this things.I also don't want you to go to school today," he said, his voice gentle but unyielding as he cupped Jin's cheek.
