The next day, Jin arrived at class, still feeling confused and unsettled. He sat down alone, his mind replaying the events of the previous night. His thoughts were tangled, unsure if what he believed had happened was real or just a misunderstanding.
Absentmindedly, Jin touched his lips, recalling the brief but intense moment.
"I'm sure... those feelings... they were lips... Right?" Jin whispered to himself, his voice filled with doubt. The memory sent a shiver down his spine, and he couldn't shake the sensation, no matter how hard he tried to rationalize it.
As the class filled with students, Jin noticed that Jungkook still wasn't present. His absence only added to Jin's confusion.
"Is he not coming today?" Jin pouted, feeling a mix of disappointment and concern. "I guess... he didn't like what happened... But he's the one who did it, right?" Jin whispered again, his thoughts spiraling. He couldn't help but wonder if Jungkook was avoiding him now, and the uncertainty gnawed at him, making it hard to focus on anything else.
Jin sat there, his mind consumed by the memory of Jungkook's thin lips, the way they had brushed against his own, so fleeting yet so impactful. He couldn't figure out why Jungkook would do something like that if he didn't mean it. And now, with Jungkook not showing up, Jin was left alone with his racing thoughts, unsure of what to think or feel.
The classroom was filled with the usual chatter of students as they prepared for the lesson to begin. Jin sat quietly in his seat, his thoughts still swirling with confusion and uncertainty about the previous night. His gaze kept drifting to the door, hoping that Jungkook would walk in any moment, but as the minutes passed, there was still no sign of him.
The teacher entered the classroom, signaling the start of the lesson. "Good morning, everyone. I hope you all have your projects ready to submit," she announced, her voice carrying a hint of expectation.
The students around Jin began nodding and murmuring their confirmation, but Jin's heart sank as he realized that the project he had worked on with Jungkook was still at Jungkook's place.
Panic began to rise in his chest as he stood up, his voice slightly trembling. "Madam, I... I forgot to bring the project. It's at Jungkook's place, but he isn't here today..."
Before the teacher could respond, a few students from the back row who had always been harsh towards Jin seized the opportunity to mock him. One of them, a tall boy with a sneer on his face, called out, "Of course, the blind kid didn't bring the project! How could he even see it to know where it is?"
Another chimed in, her tone dripping with sarcasm, "I'm just glad I wasn't paired with him. Imagine being stuck with someone who can't even see what he's doing!"
Laughter erupted from the small group, and someone else added, "And Jungkook? That delinquent probably didn't even bother doing the project. What do you expect from someone like him?"
Jin tried to speak up, his voice soft but earnest. "We did complete the project. It's just that..."
But the students didn't let him finish, cutting him off with more taunts. "Yeah, right. We all know you're just making excuses. You can't even prove that you did it!"
Jin stood there, taking in all the harsh words with a calm exterior, though inside, he felt a pang of hurt. He had always tried to keep his composure, hiding the pain behind a mask of indifference, but it wasn't easy. The cruelty of their words cut deep, but he didn't want to show them how much it affected him.
Meanwhile, at the back of the class, Taehyung and Jimin watched the scene unfold with growing anger. Jimin clenched his fists, barely able to contain his rage.
