While Jungkook was busy torturing Taeseong in the basement, Jin sat in his classroom, quietly working on his assignments. His mind occasionally wandered to Jungkook, wondering when he would return. The warm sunlight poured in through the windows, but the atmosphere around him felt heavy, as if something was about to change.
Suddenly, Jin's attention snapped to the doorway as a presence entered the room. He sensed an unfamiliar scent and looked up to see a girl standing there, her expression a mix of pain and anger.
“Y-you’re Jin, right?” she stammered, her voice wavering. “That guy... Jungkook... for you, he beat my brother like that, huh?”
Jin’s heart raced in confusion. “What? Beat? Who... your brother...?” he managed to say, his voice laced with bewilderment.
“Minjun! My brother!” The girl, Minji, exclaimed, her voice rising in intensity. “That Jungkook guy—he’s a monster, a literal psycho! He beat my brother like that! How can a human be so ruthless? My brother’s been in the hospital for a week now, and his condition is getting worse and worse! Who is going to pay for it, huh? It’s all your fault! For you, my brother had to suffer from that monster!”
Jin’s mind raced. Minjun was in the hospital? How had this happened? Why didn’t Jungkook tell him anything? The pieces of the puzzle were scattered, and Jin felt a growing dread in the pit of his stomach.
“Wait,” he said, trying to collect his thoughts. “What happened? I don’t understand. Jungkook wouldn’t hurt anyone without a reason.”
Minji scoffed, her anger palpable. "You really don’t know, do you? What sin did my brother do to you to deserve that, huh?"
Jin's mind raced as Minji’s words crashed over him like a tidal wave. He stood up, confusion and concern battling for dominance within him. "I... I don’t k-know...i don't understand. What happened?" Jin muttered.
“Why’d Jungkook hurt your brother?” Jin asked, his voice trembling with confusion and concern.
Minji's eyes blazed with anger, tears welling as she spoke. “He was trying to protect you! My brother saw Jungkook being… well, he saw how he looked at you. Minjun thought he could help, thought he could get you away from that monster. He confronted him and…” Her voice broke, struggling to continue. “Jungkook didn’t hold back. He beat him badly. Minjun’s in the hospital because of that! Minjun only wanted to help you when he reached that point—”
“Stop lying. Just because Minjun said that, you’ll believe it?” Jimin’s voice cut through the tension like a knife, filled with anger.
“That’s not the truth at all! Don’t you dare lie here!” Taehyung added, his tone low and dark. “You have no clue what your brother has done. He gave Jin a pendrive that triggered his trauma. Do you think that’s a good guy’s deed?”
Jin’s heart sank as he remembered the pendrive Minjun had given him, claiming it was an audio movie. In reality, it contained vulgar and explicit content that had unleashed a flood of painful memories, causing him deep distress. Did Jungkook really hurt Minjun for that?
Minji fell silent, surprise flashing across her face. The anger that had fueled her earlier seemed to waver.
“Before jumping to any conclusions, you need to get the proper details. Before spouting nonsense here, just go and ask your brother the real truth. That bastard is in the hospital in that state, and yet he dares to lie. He should be grateful Jungkook let him stay alive. Or else, his monster side hasn’t even been seen yet,” Taehyung continued, his expression fierce and unwavering.
Jin’s thoughts raced. He felt torn between the loyalty he had for Jungkook and the shock of what he was hearing.
Minji’s voice rang out, filled with a mix of anger and urgency. “Don’t you dare talk here! I know everything! Minjun has told me everything. That bastard Jungkook is a playboy, a betting king. Jin, you’re like a little brother to me; you’re sweet, and Minjun always speaks about you. I’m scared of that devil, and that’s why I’m telling you this—he’s a playboy! For him, nothing matters except a bet. And you! You’re just a bet for him too! He approached you as part of a bet!”
