The atmosphere in the room was thick with anticipation as Jungkook, Mrs. Kim, Jimin, and Taehyung waited for the moment they’d all been eager for. Jungkook felt his heart racing, a mix of excitement and anxiety swirling within him. He kept glancing at Jin, who was prepped for his eye surgery, and he couldn’t help but worry.
Finally, the moment arrived. The surgeon entered, and the nurse carefully began to remove Jin’s bandages, one layer at a time. Each slow unwrapping heightened the tension in the room. As the last bandage fell away, the doctor instructed, "Slowly try to open your eyes. Let the light adjust."
Jin took a deep breath, the gasps from his friends and mother echoing in his ears. "Jungkook?" he called out, his voice trembling with both anxiety and hope.
Once the doctor and nurse left the room, giving them privacy, Jungkook positioned himself right in front of Jin. His heart pounded as he held Jin’s hands gently, placing them against his cheeks. "Jin… baby, look at me."
Jin slowly opened his eyes, the brightness overwhelming at first. The colors seemed brighter, the details sharper, and after years of darkness, everything felt surreal. He blinked a few times, adjusting to the light, and then his gaze locked onto Jungkook. It felt like time stopped.
"J-Jungkook..." Jin breathed, his voice thick with emotion. He fought back tears, wanting to fully embrace this moment without letting his emotions spill over. As he caressed Jungkook’s cheeks, he felt the warmth of his love radiating through their connection. "Wow, I was right… you’re really so… pretty."
"Seriously? You should say handsome, hot, and sexy, not pretty!" Jungkook retorted, trying to sound annoyed but failing miserably. His cheeks flushed a deep crimson, betraying his facade.
Jin giggled softly, the sound like music to Jungkook’s ears. "But you are pretty. You’re the prettiest person I’ve ever seen,".Jin whispered, still in awe of the man before him. Jungkook felt a rush of warmth spread through him at the compliment, and he couldn't help but smile, the nervousness melting away.
"You know how to make me blush," Jungkook said, his voice light and teasing.
Jin felt overwhelmed, his hands refusing to leave Jungkook's cheeks as his eyes stayed locked on his face. His heart swelled with every second, his gaze drinking in every detail of Jungkook’s features—the curve of his lips, the soft blush on his cheeks, the sparkle in his eyes. It was as if he were seeing him for the first time, and yet, the emotions were as familiar as ever.
"I can't believe I’m dating such a handsome guy," Jin whispered, his voice filled with awe.
Jungkook chuckled softly, a mix of shyness and pride in his expression. "Handsome, huh? I know." he teased, though his eyes betrayed just how much the compliment meant to him.
Jin’s hands stayed, gently caressing his face, his thumbs tracing the outlines of Jungkook’s jaw. "I always knew you were good-looking… but now I can see it. Every little detail… I don’t want to look away."
Jungkook’s heart skipped a beat, his chest tightening at the love and admiration in Jin’s voice. "You don’t ever have to," he murmured, leaning in, his lips brushing gently against Jin’s. The kiss was soft, tender, as if they were savoring the moment they had waited so long for.
When they pulled back, Jungkook rested his forehead against Jin’s, his hands now holding Jin’s. "I’m the lucky one," he said quietly, his voice filled with emotion. "To have you here, looking at me like this."
Jin smiled, his heart fluttering. "Well, get used to it. I’m never letting you out of my sight now." Jin whispered, as his fingers gently caressed Jungkook's cheeks.
