"Snow white?" the voice said, making Jin and Jungkook look around, puzzled. The voice sounded vaguely familiar to Jin.
"Ah, there you are... I told you not to roam around..." The man who had spoken approached, initially focused on the cat Jin was holding. When he noticed Jin, his expression shifted from concern to shock.
"J-Jin?" The man's voice wavered in disbelief.
Jin blinked, tilting his head as he tried to recognize the voice and scent.
A smile gradually spread across his face as he exclaimed, "Namjoon? Is that you?"Namjoon, visibly stunned, froze in place as his eyes locked onto Jin. "Oh my God, Jin! What are you doing here? How are you? Where have you been? I thought you said you would never come here... You didn't come when I asked you to... Why now?"
Jin's smile flattered a bit yet smiled widely, and he responded warmly, hiding his hesitation. "Ah, Joon, it's a long story. I can tell you later. It's so good to have you here. How have you been?"
Namjoon!s face brightened as he replied, "I am good. What about you?"
"Really good." Jin smiled. Then he remembered. "Oh yes, Jungkook, meet Namjoon, my old close friend. And Namjoon, this is Jungkook—" Jin began to introduce Jungkook, but Jungkook cut him off.
"I am Jungkook. Pleasure to meet you," Jungkook said, his tone tight.
Namjoon glanced Jungkook up and down, then turned back to Jin with a smile. "Oh, yes, Namjoon here. Nice to meet you too. You two seem quite close," he said, his gaze lingering on Jin.
Jin, unable to see the exchange but feeling the undercurrent, noticed a change in Jungkook's demeanor. Although he could not see the sparkle in Namjoon's eyes, Jungkook observed it clearly. It was the look of someone who had a deep, personal connection with Jin more than just a casual friend. Jungkook felt a twinge of jealousy but kept his composure.
Namjoon eyes never left Jin's face as he didn't even look for his cat anymore and spoke, his voice, a mix of concern and confusion. "Jin... when did you come here? I’ve tried to contact you... What happened to him? How are you now? Have you had your eyes checked?"
Hearing Namjoon’s probing questions, Jungkook’s confusion deepened. His face tightened with a mixture of jealousy and frustration, while Jin's expression shifted to one of nervousness. Jin forced a smile, trying to deflect the conversation... "Not now, Joon. I don’t want to talk about the past…"
Jungkook, unable to contain his growing irritation at Namjoon’s persistent gaze on Jin, felt his blood boil. His voice, though calm, carried an edge as he addressed Jin... "Baby, I think we should leave."
Namjoon’s eyebrows raised in surprise at the endearment Jungkook used for Jin. Before he could respond, Jungkook’s voice cut through again... "Let’s go. I am hungry."
"Oh, yes sure." Jin nodded.
Namjoon looked taken aback but quickly masked his surprise with a polite smile... "Oh... sure. Jin, it was pleasant to meet you. We can talk again…"
As Jungkook rolled his eyes at his words and began to gently pull Jin away,
Namjoon suddenly reached out and grabbed Jin’s wrist, halting their departure... "Can I get your contact information? Do you still study? Where are you studying? Can we talk?"
Jungkook’s eyes flared with a dangerous intensity as he watched Namjoon’s hand grip Jin’s wrist. His annoyance with Namjoon’s insistence was palpable. He could hardly believe Jin was even considering giving out his contact details.
Jin, despite feeling the tension, responded with a forced calmness... "Oh, yes, sure."
Jungkook’s grip on Jin’s arm tightened imperceptibly as he tried to keep his temper in check. His eyes remained fixed on Namjoon with a smoldering intensity, reflecting his frustration with the situation.
