"Congratulations, cousin" said Paul hugging Jeremy.

"Paul! Jeremy!" Charles Wallace called.

"Help us out here!" said Sam.

They were still moving rocks from the destroyed wall off of Dorcas's body.

Once they got her out, they saw that she was lifeless and her eyes were closed.

"Dorcas..." Gayle whispered.

Clavin put his hand on Dorcas's bosom and felt nothing.

"She's dead" he said sadly.

"Oh, Dorcas, darling" Jackie cried.

"Oh dear..." Paul sighed.

Jeremy was crying sad tears now. "I didn't get the chance to thank her for saving my life."

"She probably knew you'd be grateful" said Sam.

"Think of it this way, Jeremy. She gave up her life, which she really seemed to love, in order to defeat the IT" said Charles Wallace.

"Exactly. We should be proud of Dorcas for that" said Calvin.

Gayle wiped away her own tears. "I believe the boys are right. How can evil ever win when there's honesty, courage, and loyalty in the world?"

"Agreed" said Jackie. "She deserves a lovely sendoff."

Just then, the African wind picked up Dorcas's body and the spirits sang again.

Athair ar Neamh, Dia linn

Athair ar Neamh, Dia loim

M'anam mo chroì, mo ghlòir

Moladh duit, a Dhia

Fada an là, go sàmh

Fada an oìch', gan ghruaim

Aoibhneas, àthas, grà

Moladh duit, a Dhia

Mòriam thù ò là go là

Mòriam thù ò oìch go hoich'

Athair ar Neamh, Dia linn

Athair ar Neamh, Dia loim

An ghealach, an ghrian, an ghaoth

As the song continued, they took Dorcas's body to the Shepherd Forest where the fireflies flitted around her.

Moladh duit, a Dhia

Mòriam thù ò là go là

Mòriam thù ò oìch go hoich'

Athair ar Neamh, Dia linn

Athair ar Neamh, Dia loim

M'anam mo chroì, mo ghlòir

Moladh duit, a Dhia

The fireflies laid Dorcas down on a bed of blue leaves and sprinkled river water on her face.

The Three Warriors dug a hole and buried Dorcas's body in it.
