On the second and third day, Jennie still hadn't eaten.
It was easy for her to become tired from hunger, so she could just lie in bed, quietly look out the window, or read a book. She's been going on for a few days and she still doubted whether this hunger strike was too much, but since she had already done it, why not do it to the end? In the end, she just wanted an ending.
Because Jennie didn't eat and get tired easily, she slept more and more. Lisa would personally prepare the food and place it next to her bed, gently persuading her to eat. However, she would ruthlessly push him away repeatedly without looking at him.
Perhaps there was a limit to his gentleness, perhaps he would always patiently coax her no matter what she did, but she forced him into a corner with a hunger strike, which angered him in the end.
Lisa had been in his study looking through documents for three consecutive nights and had not returned to the bedroom.
Every time Jennie slept, she would definitely dream. Every dream of her must be a memory of when her mother committed suicide and was covered in blood. She woke up covered in cold sweat repeatedly. This time, she cried and suddenly sat up in bed.
Jennie's body was drenched in cold sweats.
When she opened her eyes and felt someone by her side, she immediately turned around with an alert and immediately saw Lisa standing next to the bed, looking at her with displeasure.
He apparently had just entered the room and stopped next to the bed because of the violent reaction from her.
Jennie took a deep breath. Because she hadn't eaten in three days, her face was a little pale. She sighed again before weakly asking, "When did you come in?"
Lisa, on the other hand, didn't say a word. He only looked at the terror and pain in her eyes, staring deeply at her.
Jennie didn't want him to see her fears and vulnerabilities. She's been hiding as much as possible for the past month, but lately, she's gotten more and more out of control. She turned around, closed her eyes, and said in a low voice, "If you have nothing to say, then I will go back to sleep."
"Still won't eat?" Lisa asked while looking at her. His voice was still full of patience and tenderness.
Even though Jennie was currently tormenting him, forcing him to have nothing to say to her, he would still patiently coax her to eat a little.
"You know what I'm waiting for." Jennie continued to lie down, pulling the blanket back over herself and closing her eyes, not looking at him.
Lisa frowned, "It's been three days. Even if you don't want to eat, you have to do it for the sake of your children! If this continues, you will fall sick! You are having trouble with me, so why should you torture yourself? Do you really want me to force you to eat?"
Jennie's eyes were closed as she tried to ignore him. In fact, her heart had already been broken into pieces.
How could she not know that this was not good? She just wanted to ask for a divorce, was that hard for Lisa to do? What else could she do other than to make him feel really helpless? It had been three days ... As long as she continued to persevere--.
Her thought was cut by the sound of the bedroom door being slammed shut.
His voice was not soft and it was enough to express his anger.
Lisa was truly angry.
Jennie opened her eyes. Maybe Lisa had been angry with her since the first day she stopped eating, but he didn't think she would last that long. In three days, occasionally, Jennie would only drink water, but she would not eat any single thing.
