When Jennie came out of the small room, she asked Sister Yanmei to go inside and clean the room. Sister Yanmei smiled at her, thinking maybe she was tired, so she went in. Jennie sat on the couch with a dazed look on her face.

When Lisa returned at night, he saw Jennie leaning pensively on the couch. He walked over to her with a smile and rubbed her head gently. "Why are you sitting here? If you are tired, go back to the bedroom and sleep."

"Lisa." Jennie can't sleep. She looked at his face with a tumultuous feeling.

"Hmm." Lisa turned around to take off his coat.

"The wedding dress, uh... I took the deposit back."

Lisa was hanging his coat on a clothes hanger. Hearing her words, his hand stopped for a moment before he turned around. "Why?"

Jennie laughed. "Suddenly I don't like that style anymore and want to make a new one."

She then explained, "Even if you have a lot of money, I feel it's still too luxurious to create such an expensive wedding dress. Even if you want to treat me well, you can't waste your money on a wedding dress that costs more than a hundred thousand. I can only wear it once. No matter how I think about it, it's a bit wasteful, so I decided to take back the deposit money. Lis, I think we should start saving. After all, we both live normal lives."

"Then I'll help you choose another one?" Lisa didn't ask about her reasons in detail but walked towards her.

"No need, I have a friend whose job is to design clothes. I'll ask her to help me when I have time." Jennie whispered as she laid on the couch with her hands wrapped around the pillow.

Lisa then smiled and laid next to her. He hugged her along with her pillow, "Will your friend design the wedding dress? I'm looking forward to it."

After saying that, he flicked her forehead, then lowered his head to nibble on her nose. "Did you tell your friend your current weight and waist size?"

Hearing the teasing tone of his voice, Jennie immediately used her hands to push him away. "You think I'm fat?! It's just that my stomach is a bit too big, it's not like my body is fat."

Lisa held her tighter. "I don't dare to complain about you being fat. Pregnant women are the biggest. Although your stomach is like a ball, even if your whole body is fat like a ball, I still don't dare to despise you."

Jennie smiled and leaned against his chest. She had been prepared in her heart, but then she suddenly began to waver and find it difficult to speak again. It was difficult for her to make a choice.

Originally, she didn't want to say, 'Lisa, I took the deposit back.'

She was going to say, 'Lisa, I know that you had nothing to do with what your grandfather and father had done, I know how innocent you are, and I know that you treat me so carefully every day partly because of our marriage and our feelings and partly because you want to atone for what they did to me, I know.'

She originally wanted to say, 'I don't blame you. I don't hate you and I don't want to hurt you either. I hid in Greenville Residence, a world that belongs solely to the two of us, and spent a month weighing and choosing, trying to put down the bizarre past hatred that suddenly belonged to me.'

She had wanted to say, 'Lisa, I love you, and I want to be with you for the rest of my life, but when I saw my mother jump down the building and commit suicide, the sight of blood all over the ground, is tormenting me every night. I don't want to push you away, I don't want to give up our marriage, but I can't face the Manoban Family anymore.'

She was going to say... 'Lisa, let's get divorced.'

Still, the words that were about to come out of her mouth became a lot of explanations about the wedding dress because of his gentle demeanor and refusal to part.

Where would she get this friend who did fashion design?

The next day, Lisa had to make an urgent visit to a neighboring city, so it was uncertain if he would be able to return on time.

Jennie spent time walking in the Greenville Residence's area alone. Finally, she returned to the house and fell asleep in the dark due to exhaustion.

Probably because she's been worried every day for the past month, she did not eat or sleep well, and her rest was disturbed too. She's been more easily tired lately, so by the time she opened her eyes, it was already 10.30 p.m.

At this time, Lisa still hadn't returned. It seemed like he really wouldn't be able to make it back tonight.

Jennie sat alone on the balcony, looking at the bright street lights outside the housing complex before deciding to go to the kitchen. She became lazy after spending her time eating and sleeping every day.

She got up from her chair and went to the kitchen to warm a glass of milk. The fridge was stocked with all sorts of foods she normally eats.

Jennie casually opened a packet of figs, returned to the living room, and turned on her laptop.

When Jennie heard the sound of the door opening, her heart skipped a beat. She looked up towards the door. She thought Lisa had forgotten her birthday and there was only an hour left. She immediately closed the laptop and hid behind the curtains.

Lisa came in and hugged her along with the curtains without saying a word.

Shocked, Jennie stuck her head out from behind the curtain. "How do you know I'm here?!"

He pretended to be mysterious. "This is called a telepathic thought!"

Jennie pressed him down on the couch and tickled him. He couldn't stand her teasing anymore, so he grabbed her hand and confessed, "Since when did our house's curtain wrap around a big circle?"

When Jennie heard this, she grabbed his neck and retaliated forcibly. When she got tired of playing, she laid on his chest.

Jennie pretended to wipe her tears and said angrily, "Today is my birthday."

Lisa held her in one arm with the other hand behind her head, smiling calmly. "You think I've forgotten?"

Her eyes lit up. "Do you have a present for me?"

Lisa smiled and put his arm around her shoulder. He held her and helped her sit up. "Open the door and take a look."

Jennie ran away from him and swiftly walked to the door. As she opened the door to look around, she saw a simple little cake cart with a 12-inch layer cake on it. Even though the cake was beautiful, it didn't look very professional. She couldn't help but stick her finger on the cake and put it in her mouth.

It's a pretty good cream cake with a mild sweet taste. The only drawback was that the size of the flowers on the cake was not very suitable.

Lisa hugged her from behind. "I didn't buy gifts. It only took me three hours to go to the cake shop after I got back from G City."

Jennie was stunned. She turned her head and looked at his face. "You made this?"
