After the battle where Izuku was confirmed to be alive, Toshinori has been hiding this truth from Izumi, his daughter. Guilt has been gnawing at him, knowing he's been keeping such a significant secret from her. As her father, he finally decides it's time to tell her the truth about her brother.
Izumi arrives at her parents house.
Izumi: "Hey dad. You called me, what's going on? you sounded off on the phone."
Toshinori took a deep breath before replying.
Toshinori: "Izuku... He's..."
Izumi freezes at the mention of Izuku. Her heart clenches—this isn't a name she hears often anymore. Ever since his death, the topic of Izuku has been too painful to discuss.
Izumi: "What about Izuku...? she asks cautiously, her voice trembling.
Toshinori takes a deep breath, his voice barely above a whisper.
Toshinori: "He's alive, Izumi."
The words hit her like a ton of bricks. She stares at her father, waiting for him to say something more, waiting for the punchline that would somehow make this make sense.
Izumi: "What... do you mean? Alive? But... we all saw—"
Toshinori: "I thought the same," he interrupts, his voice heavy. "But it's true. Izuku... your brother, he was revived by overhaul. I was told about this recently by your uncle Enji."
Izumi: "Revived...?" she whispered, her voice shaky. "By Overhaul? The villain who—"
Toshinori: "Yes," Toshinori interrupted, regret lacing his tone. He clenched his fists tightly on his lap, struggling with his own emotions. "It happened after Kamino. His body was... taken. Chisaki's Quirk brought him back somehow."
Izumi felt lightheaded. She stumbled back into a chair, her hands gripping the edge as tears stung her eyes.
Izumi: "So all this time... he's been out there? Alive? And no one knew?" she muttered, the thought overwhelming her.
Toshinori knelt beside her, his hand resting gently on her shoulder.
Toshinori: "No one knew. But now, the Hero Association considers him a threat. He's already hunted heroes again..."
Izumi: "So he became a villain again..." She whispered.
Toshinori: "Not a villain... He's a monster."
Izumi looked at all might with shock.
Izumi: "Does that mean..."
Toshinori: "Yes. There hero association plans on killing him once and for all."
Izumi sat in silence.
Izumi: "I'm going to find him, Dad."
Toshinori looked at her, concern filling his eyes.
Toshinori: "Izumi, wait—"
Izumi: "No," she interrupted, her voice firm. "I have to. I don't care what the Hero Association says. I don't care what anyone says. He's my brother, and I'm not going to let them kill him without even trying to reach him first."
Toshinori's heart ached. He knew how dangerous this was, but he also knew that once Izumi made up her mind, there was no stopping her. He sighed, running a hand through his hair.
Toshinori: "Izumi, I understand how you feel, but you don't know what Izuku's been through. He's different now—stronger, more dangerous. You can't just run into this blindly."
Izumi: "I'm not running into it blindly!" she snapped, her eyes fierce. "I know what I did to him. I know that I was awful to him for so long, and I can't just sit here while the world decides he's beyond saving. I owe him that much."
