The morning air blew through the training yard outside the Dojo as Izuku stretched, exhaling slowly. He stared at the sky, his mind unusually quiet, weighed down by the day ahead.
Today, he was going back to U.A.
Izuku: "Tch... this is a waste of time." He muttered, rolling his shoulders.
Bang, sitting on the wooden porch of the dojo, sipped his tea with an amused smile.
Bang: "Hmph. If you really thought that, you wouldn't be putting on that uniform."
Izuku clicked his tongue, glancing down at himself. He was wearing the U.A. uniform—white shirt, blazer, and slacks—though he'd left the tie undone and the top few buttons open. His sleeves were rolled up, exposing the faint scars along his forearms. It felt weird. Uncomfortable.
Izuku: "Doesn't change anything."
Bang: "Maybe. Maybe not." Bang set his teacup down, standing up with a sigh. "But you agreed, so let's get going."
With an irritated grunt, Izuku followed his master down the mountain. He wasn't nervous. Not exactly. More... unsettled.
Izuku: "I can't believe I'm doing this..." He scoffed, walking down.
Bang: "You say that like it's the worst thing in the world."
Izuku turned to glare at the old master.
Izuku: "Because it is." He jabbed a finger toward the uniform. "You really think I'm just gonna slide into U.A. like nothing happened? Like I haven't spent the last 6 months tearing apart the very foundation of their so-called justice?"
Bang sighed, stepping forward.
Bang: "You're not going there to fit in, Izuku. You're going there to figure out what comes next. Right now, you're aimless." He paused, watching Izuku's expression shift slightly. "You're strong, yes. But strength without direction is meaningless."
Izuku clicked his tongue in irritation.
Izuku: "I have direction."
Bang: "No, you have anger."
Izuku stayed silent for a few seconds, letting the words hit him. He knew Bang was right but didn't wanna admit it.
Bang: "I won't force you, Izuku. But I will tell you this—running away from something doesn't make it disappear."
Izuku stared at the old master for a long moment, his jaw tightening. He hated this. Hated how Bang always seemed to know exactly what to say to get under his skin.
with a defeating sigh, Izuku continued to walk down the mountain next to Bang.
Izuku: "Don't expect me to start singing the U.A. anthem or some shit."
Bang smirked, satisfied.
Bang: "Wouldn't dream of it."
Timeskip
Izuku sat in U.A.'s grand principal's office, ignoring the lavish decor. His focus was on the two men before him—Principal Nezu, the small but brilliant head of the school, and Aizawa, the tired yet sharp-eyed teacher of Class 1-A.
Bang sat beside Izuku, arms crossed, observing the situation.
Nezu: "It's been quite some time since you first passed the entrance exam, Mr Yagi." He said cheerfully, sipping his tea. "Yet, instead of attending, you went down quite the... unorthodox path."
Izuku's expression remained unreadable.
Izuku: "You mean the whole 'hunting heroes' thing?" He shrugged, leaning back in his chair. "Yeah, I'd say that was a more productive use of my time."
