Jennie's P. O. V.
"Thought I'd surprise you," he said, stepping closer. "And it seems like it worked." He reached out, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. His touch sent shivers down my spine, and I finally found my voice. "How..."
"Shh, princess," he said, quieting me as he wrapped his arms around my waist. I looked up at him with wide eyes, and he leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to my lips. "Don't ask questions," he whispered as we pulled back from the kiss.
Am I that easy to kiss?
"You taste like strawberries." He grinned at me, his arms still wrapped tightly around my waist. "And you smell like the sea." He buried his face in my neck, inhaling deeply. "I love it."
"You're driving me crazy," I whispered to myself, clinging to his shoulders as he nuzzled into my neck. He chuckled darkly, his hands roaming over my body.
"You're not helping," I hissed, squirming in his embrace. He tightened his hold on me, his hands sliding down to my backside and giving it a gentle squeeze. "Shh, babygirl, I'm just getting started."
I pulled away, but he kept my arms in place as I glared up at him, my cheeks flushed from his touch. "I'm going to push you into the water."
"You wouldn't dare," he taunted, his eyes glinting with amusement. I narrowed my eyes at him, silently debating whether or not to push him into the cold ocean water. "Try me," I challenged, my voice steady. He grinned wolfishly, tightening his hold on me.
"Alright, you asked for it," he said, suddenly lifting me up and throwing me over his shoulder. I yelped in surprise, kicking my legs as he carried me towards the water. "No! It's cold!" I protested, my hands gripping onto his shirt.
"Too bad," he laughed, his voice muffled by my flailing limbs. Without warning, he tossed me into the shallow water. I splashed and sputtered as the cold waves washed over me, pushing my hair out of my face as I surfaced. "You're dead!"
"Is that a threat?" He teased, wading into the water towards me. His shirt clung to his muscular chest, and his jeans were soaked. He looked devastatingly handsome, even with his clothes drenched. I lunged at him, tackling him into the water.
We both surfaced, laughing and breathless. His hair was slicked back, and water dripped from his long lashes. "You cheated," he pouted, pretending to be offended. I smirked at him, swimming closer until our chests touched.
"You look like a drowned rat," I giggled, running my fingers through his wet hair.
He stopped, his eyes locked onto mine. "And you look like an angel," he murmured. "My angel." He paused, then added, "I love you, princess." His voice was soft, almost hesitant.
He waited for a moment, his smile faltering as he realized I wasn't going to say it back. His arms dropped from around my waist, and he turned away, staring out at the darkening sky. "It's getting late," he muttered. "We should head back."
"You didn't wait for my answer," I blurted out, expecting him to turn around and he stopped walking and turned back, his brow furrowed. "Huh?"
"I mean, you need an answer back, no?" I said, looking everywhere but his face.
"Isn't it obvious?" He said, his voice low. " Your actions always tell."
I looked up at him then, my heart racing as I met his gaze. His eyes were intense, searching mine for the answer he wanted.
"Views can change," I shrugged my shoulders, my arms folded as my voice echoed in the vast ocean.
He took a step closer, his voice dropping to a near whisper. "And has yours?"
