His eyes followed her steps, and he finally broke down. His knees buckled beneath him, and he crumpled to the floor, his hands clutching at his chest.
His face was pale, his eyes dry. He wasn't crying, he wasn't even breathing heavily. He just... felt empty. Numb. Like a part of him had been ripped out, and all that was left was a hollow shell.
"Tae... get up," Jimin said softly, crouching down beside him. Taehyung didn't react, his eyes still fixed on the spot where Jennie had been standing. Jimin gently shook his shoulder.
"She walked away like it was nothing," Taehyung said, his voice flat and lifeless. "It was easy for her. She went away."
He finally tore his gaze away from the empty space, looking up at Jimin with hollow eyes.
"Tae, she's not... she's not doing this because she wants to," Jimin tried to reason, his heart aching for his friend. "She loves you."
"Why did she walk away then?" Taehyung asked, his voice barely above a whisper. There was no emotion in it, just a simple question.
Jimin sighed, rubbing his temples. He didn't know how to make Taehyung understand. "Because she thinks it's what's best for you, Tae. She thinks you deserve better than her."
Taehyung just stared at him for a moment, then he let out a short, sharp laugh. It was a harsh, bitter sound, completely devoid of humor. "She thinks I deserve better? Than her?" He shook his head, his laughter dying down.
Jimin tried to shake Taehyung out of his trance. "Taehyung, get up," he said urgently. "We don't know if there are more bombs in the building. We need to get out of here, now."
Taehyung finally snapped out of his trance and allowed Jimin to help him up. His body felt heavy, his limbs slow to respond. As they made their way out of the building, Taehyung cast one last glance back at the spot where Jennie had stood before walking away from him.

Jennie sat in the passenger seat of the car, her eyes fixed on the buildings across the street. Kai looked at Jennie through the rearview and found her lost. She hadn't said a word since leaving the building, her mind a whirlwind of emotions.
"Oh, how easy was it to break these two, tsk tsk," Kai whispered under his breath, smirking as he turned the steering wheel to the other side.
Jennie's grip on the handle tightened, knuckles turning white. She took a deep, steadying breath to calm herself down. "He looked so...devastated, Kai," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "And I... I just left him there, like it was nothing."
Kai's smirk faded, making him clench his teeth. "He'll get over it," he said dismissively, putting on his sunglasses.
Jennie bit her lip hard to keep the tears from falling. She couldn't bring herself to look at Kai, instead staring out of the window as the city blurred by.
Kai's phone suddenly rang, the harsh sound echoing in the car. He picked it up from the dashboard and glanced at the caller ID. A satisfied smirk spread across his face as he answered. "Yes, Suho?". He listened intently for a moment before replying. "Good job."
Suho's voice came through the phone. "It's done. He's alone and heartbroken. Jennie left him in the building." Kai chuckled, clearly pleased with the update. "Excellent. "
"Suho, make sure to keep an eye on him," Kai instructed. "We don't want him doing anything stupid." Suho agreed, and Kai ended the call. He glanced over at Jennie, who was still staring out the window.
"You did the right thing, Jennie," Kai reassured her. "He needed a wake-up call. This will make him stronger." Jennie didn't respond, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. Kai sighed, reaching over to squeeze her shoulder. "Hey, look at me."
