Chapter 22: Massive Explosion
Without the leopard, their main force in battle, the Squad' attack speed significantly decreased, and the druid became more cautious, not daring to let the two-headed dog leave his control range.
As a result, the two-headed dog's attacks became more frenzied, focusing all its attention on attacking. The old man's head would occasionally shout a few words, mocking the Squad.
After about three minutes, the leopard had already regained its fighting strength and rejoined the battle. The two-headed dog's health finally dropped to 33%.
At this moment, the two-headed dog pounced on another specimen jar, knocking out a deep-sea octopus from within.
Unlike the previous Behemoth, this time the deep-sea octopus had three different tentacles trying to wrap around the two-headed dog. It was clear that this was another buff of the boss, with each different tentacle representing a different enhancement.
Perhaps the earlier battle with the Squad had given the two-headed dog some confidence; it actively chose one of the tentacles.
After swallowing the tentacle, three strange tentacles grew directly from the back of the two-headed dog, constantly waving and increasing the intensity of its attacks on the Squad.
However, this choice made the Squad breathe a sigh of relief because the remaining two tentacles represented the octopus's regeneration ability and its ability to change colors.
These two abilities would have caused more trouble for the Squad, but this full-scale attack ability was not of much use to them.
Since the druid had already made a mistake once, he would not let any more mistakes happen. While the tentacles were attacking from all directions, the giant bear he had transformed into grew even larger, blocking over eighty percent of the attacks.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, the Squad launched a burst attack, knocking the two-headed dog to the ground before it could react.
The final blow was delivered by the druid. Seeing that the two-headed dog had lost most of its fighting power, the druid leaped from the sky and landed heavily on the two-headed dog. The impact shook the ground, and more than half of the two-headed dog's body was sent flying. Some parts even landed in front of Leon.
After confirming the two-headed dog's death, the hunter approached the corpse and searched for a while before finally finding the old man's head.
The head still seemed to have some consciousness, but it could no longer speak. The hunter gestured for Leon to open the corpse while he carried the head to a device at the back of the laboratory. He held the head's eyes up to the device, and a metal staircase descended from the ceiling.
Once the staircase was secured, the hunter tossed the head aside and turned to Leon, saying, "We need to rest for a night; otherwise, more people will die fighting the final hidden boss."
