Evi:
We lie next to each other, my head resting on his chest, slowly moving up and down as he breathes in and out.We haven't said a word, we just lie here in silence.
I gently slide my fingertips over his chest, making invisible drawings with them."I love you." Bill says and I tilt my head a little so I can look at him.
"I love you to."
"But I need to know." He says, doubt audible in his voice.I immediately know what he is refering to and I lower my eyes, fixating them on his chest.
"It's was different."
"Different how?"
"Just different." I look at him. "It was nothing compared to what we have."I straighten myself a little and look into his eyes.
"Did you like it? Brenda..." I ask with a soft voice, almost whispering.
"Evi-"
"It's okay if you did." I interrupt him."I didn't, not really."
I lower my eyes, following my fingertips lingering over his chest."So you did?"
I sigh deeply. "Bill, please."
"I just need to know."
"It's Tom, I mean, you know your brother. He knows what he's doing. Let's just keep it at that."Tom:
I hear the front door closing and not much later I hear a knock on my door.
"Come in!"Bill opens the door and walks inside.
"Since when do you knock?" I ask him with a grin on my face.He shrugs his shoulders.
"Everything okay?"
"Can we talk?"I nod. "About what?"
"You and Evi."
I straighten myself up and lean against the wooden frame off my bed."What about it?"
"Did she like it?"
I look at him, surprised at this question, but quickly put a grin on my face again."Bill, you don't wanna know." I get up from my bed and grab my jacket from my chair.
"I have to go." I walk past him and pad his shoulder. "She likes it rough."I quickly run downstairs, get outside and jump in my car.
"Hi," Leen greets me with a somewhat shy smile. "come in."
I get inside and close the door behind me, following Leen into the living room.
"You want something to drink?"
"Yeah, sure.""Beer or wine?"
"Whatever you are having is fine."She nods and leaves the room, into the kitchen.
She gets back with a bottle of red wine and two wine glasses.I take the bottle from her, open it and pour the two wine glasses half full.
I give one to her and take a small sip myself before I put the wine glass onto the table in front of me."Have you heard anything from Brenda lately?"
I ask her, looking into her eyes.
She shyly looks away and shakes her head.
"Nothing. I don't understand why she suddenly broke up with Bill. What if it's some kind of trick?"I shrug my shoulders. "I don't know." I sigh. "Let's just hope it's not a trick and everything will finally be normal again."
"I hope so." She says softly."You wanna watch a movie? I got this new one, I thought you might wanna watch it together?"
I look at her and can't help but notice a pink blush on her cheeks."You start the movie, I'll get us some snacks." Leen says and walks towards the kitchen.
The film started but I can't keep my eyes on the screen. I keep looking at Leen, through the corner of my eyes.
I hesitate a little before I put my arm around her.
Without saying anything she lean into me, putting her head on my shoulder. We sit like that almost the entire movie, not saying anything at all, but not concentrated on the movie either.
When the movie ends, she pulls away from me a little. Taking the, now empty, bottle of wine in her hands.
"You want some more wine?"I take the bottle from her hand and put it down on the table.
"There is something I wanna do first, something I wanted to do for a very long time."She looks at me a little confused, not sure what I mean.
I put my hand on her neck and with one smooth movement I put my lips on hers.
To my surprise she pulls away a little and looks into my eyes.
"What are you doing?"Before I can even answer her question she puts her lips on mine again. I kiss her back, placing my hand on her cheek again, pulling her closer to me.
Bill:
She likes it rough? She likes it rough.. Tom's words keep playing in my head.
She likes it rough..I sigh deeply, and let my hand run through my hair. How rough?
I shake my head, trying not to imagine her with Tom like that. She wants me to do it rough? We never did it rough, not at all.
I hate that I can't be with her right now, but we are taking things slow. What does that even mean? Taking things slow.
What's the point of taking things slow? After everything we've been through?I'm lying in bed and turn myself on my side.
I close my eyes, trying to force myself to finally fall asleep.
