Crystal Edge

The user's body produces onyx  diamond shaped crystals (can change their color at will though) that can cut through any material while also allowing them  to fully crystallize their entire exterior. They can cut through materials such as  titanium, reinforced steel, concrete, lead, brick, and iron like a hot knife through butter. Even elements like water, fire, wind, and earth can be cut through as well. Also,  if the user lightly coats their skin with a thin layer of crystals, they can actually make themselves more aerodynamic to
just cut through the air and bypass its resistance.

They  are able to do all this due to the crystal’s ability that uses their vitality  to initially disrupt the particles’ energetic bonds (be it ionic, covalent, etc)  causing them to separate, so the user doesn’t  really “cut” through but rather splits the particles. This allows them to move through the material with ease. Depending on the amount of energy used is how deep and how much  the particles separate from each other. This can make the ‘cuts’  and damage caused by them to be either reversible or irreversible. When they cut through a material, they use a combination of  vitality and the particles’ own energy to keep them separated for as long as possible. This allows the user to telekinetically control the energetic bonds of the particles  to  either reseal the material (including live tissue) and leave no trace of damage or forcefully separate them by unleashing an electric pulse that simultaneously breaks ALL of the energetic bonds under their control, effectively slicing/breaking  the material clean off.  Such an ability can be used for both defensive and offensive purposes and if used incorrectly it can EASILY maim and kill anyone while also causing catastrophic structural damage to man made buildings.

In addition, the user can even crystalize themselves completely and use both their vitality and the particles’ energy to compact their body to  make themselves very heavy and unbreakable. This allows the user to become a human shield. Moreover, with their crystalized body, they can  act like an amplifier for electric, light, laser, and other energetic  attacks by increasing both the speed and power of the particles. The user can even hold the energy inside their body for as long as desired, and release it at the opportune moment, surprising enemies.

Alternatively, they can create more crystals to  coat objects to  either strengthen them or turn them into deadly weapons. Now, while they can directly use their crystals  on people to give them a protective skin covering,  it’s  very risky because if  too much energy is used then, they can accidentally crystallize deeper into other tissues with debilitating or fatal consequences for others. For this reason, it is best for the user to  crystallize clothes and other gear vs someone else’s body.

The limitations of this quirk are as follows:

#1  The user cannot shed the crystals to attack anyone like Shouto can with his ice though they can spread them up to 20 meters away but only IF they are TOUCHING the object or surface that they  want to crystalize. Although the crystals spread, it takes energy to do this so the user can’t go crazy as Todoroki  and recklessly use their vitality. As such, their reach is close range to middle range combat.

#2 Though the user can recover the vitality expended by can touch their crystals to reabsorb energy. This will make the crystals break and turn to dust but the user will have recovered the energy used to create them.  Alternatively, they can absorb energy from enemies that they trap within their crystals or from other sources (like electricity, etc). However, they can only absorb up to what their body can handle. Taking anymore than their physical limit raises the risk of suffering internal damage  to their organs and a degree of  quirk control loss as the extra energy makes the crystals unstable.

#3 When becoming fully crystalized while the user does become temporarily invulnerable/impenetrable, they also become significantly  heavier, and consequently, the speed, and reaction time can  slow down by as much as 60%. For this reason, it is better for the user to crystallize certain parts of their body like the arms, legs, or back rather than just their whole body  unless necessary.

#4 The  amount of crystals and the speed in which these  can be generated
fully depends on the user's stamina and the physical condition of their body at the time.  As such, if  the user  is injured or sick then it hampers both the speed of creation and  the amount of crystals they can produce. Consequently, if they become debilitated enough, they   will be unable to use their quirk properly and can be  subdued by opponents without the need of quirk suppressant technology or abilities.

#5 If too much of the body's vitality is used, the  body will begin to slow down even more as it  progressively begins to petrify from the inside out. Now while the body can naturally handle this and no damage occurs, this will eventually render the user completely  immobile. When they get to this stage, they become a complete crystal statue,  losing consciousness as a result l, and falling into a suspended animation state (metabolically dead or inactive). This is an involuntary protective mechanism of their body which allows them to survive in even the most dangerous conditions. For this reason, the user will only regain consciousness and revert back to their normal human self if there is no immediate danger to them. The recovery process  normally takes up 20  minutes  but can be  longer if the environment remains hazardous. For example, if they become immobile and they are continuously exposed to fire, the user will remain petrified  until the surroundings aren’t dangerous anymore. Thus, this is an easy way for enemies or opponents to trap the user inside their own quirk and to incapacitate them indefinitely.

#6  When the user does regain consciousness and breaks out of this petrified state, they need an additional 15 minutes to warm up and stretch so that they are able to properly move and use their quirk again. Thus,  the user can be out of the fight for  a minimum of  35 minutes  but at least their body will be 100% recovered since it rested and regenerated during its crystallized state.

Now, while this quirk doesn't have explosive firepower, it has both offensive and defensive capabilities. This allows the user to either fight enemies one on one or work as part of a team. They can also easily play the part of team tanker or moving shield if it is necessary.

Drawbacks: exhaustion, slowed reflexes (due to becoming considerably heavier),  decreased speed, and reaction time, mental cloudiness (which can make him confused, disoriented, and forgetful), and complete body petrification with loss of consciousness if overuse is severe enough.
