Destiny Drafting
**Might seem similar to Scriptoria but it's different.**
Type: Emitter/ Transformation
It allows the user to summon a metaphysical life book that contains a complete record of an individual's life-past, present, and potential future (up to one year ahead). By touching someone, the user gains access to their book, which only they can see and manipulate.
Using telekinetic control, the user can write or erase details in the book to alter:
1. The Past: Changing past events rewrites memories, experiences, and circumstances, affecting the present reality seamlessly.
2. The Present: Immediate actions, thoughts, and circumstances can be controlled in real time.
3. The Future: Future events can be set in motion but are limited to a one-year time frame. Moreover, these changes are not guaranteed and may be influenced by unforeseen external factors.
The user can only manipulate one life book at a time and must close it before accessing another person's book. The changes made are imperceptible to others unless the user chooses to disclose them.
Unique Applications:
Self-Writing: The user can access and alter their own life book, allowing them to rewrite their own past or create favorable outcomes for their present and future.
Precision Control: They can alter minute details (e.g., erasing specific memories or implanting subtle changes in behavior) or rewrite major life events entirely.
Limitations and Drawbacks:
1. Energy Drain:
Keeping a book open and actively making changes is both physically (vitality is needed) and mentally exhausting (the hyoerfocus strains the mind).
Prolonged usage leads to fatigue, sluggishness, and headaches.
2. Concentration Dependency:
The user requires absolute focus while writing in a book. Distractions can disrupt the process, leaving incomplete or unintended changes.
3. Emotional Residue:
The user's mind absorbs fragments of the subject's memories, emotions, and experiences.
This can cause mental confusion and difficulty distinguishing their own identity from those they've influenced.
The severity of this confusion varies, lasting between 15 minutes and a full 12 hours.
4. Limited Future Scope:
Future alterations are limited to one year. Events further into the future cannot be foreseen or changed.
5. One Book at a Time:
The user can only access one life book at a time. Attempting to access another book while one is open results in failure.
6. Memory Fractures: Overwriting the same person's book repeatedly can create inconsistencies or anomalies in their memories and personality.
7. Physical Proximity: The user must touch someone to open their life book, making it difficult to use the quirk in combat or on unwilling targets.
8. Lacks firepower: for battles and works best on 1 vs 1 situations instead of multiple enemies.
As such, it is better to either work as part of a team to bring support or for the user to hide their presence and utilize their quirk from the shadows.
**However, as a supportive tool it is excellent for as the user is able to:**
Strengthen/correct quirks: they can do this by emoving/manipulating their drawbacks through the manipulation of the past and/or present to make teammates's bodies stronger.
The inverse (weakening/tampering) can also be done to an enemy's quirk by manipulating the past and/or present.
Moreover, the user can disrupt, confuse, and distract an opponent by messing with the past and/ present. Such as:
Altering the past to make the user have accidents that can cause damage to their bodies/mind while also affecting quirk proficiency and power.
Modifying what happens in the present to adjust battle outcomes (like if an attack lands on a teammate or misses them, to disrupt the enemy's field of vision, etc).
Even modifying the future a few minutes or hours into the battle is extremely beneficial since there is a higher chance of that future happening as it won't be affected by a large time gap ( the 1 year future limit access) and there less external factors would have the chance to interfere.
Additional considerations:
1. Moral Dilemma:
The ability to rewrite lives leads to ethical and emotional challenges. The user must decide when and how to use their power, knowing that every alteration can ripple outward, potentially harming others.
2. Social Isolation:
The user's abilities can make others view them as manipulative or villainous, even if their intentions are pure. Fear and distrust may isolate the user, pushing them toward loneliness or self-doubt.
3. Identity Crisis:
As the user's mind becomes entangled with the lives they alter, they may struggle to maintain a sense of self.
4. Self-Restraint:
The temptation to use the quirk for personal gain or revenge is ever-present, especially when altering their own life book. The user's ability to resist this temptation shapes their moral compass.
