Miya.
Five o'clock flashed on my phone screen as I sat in my room waiting for my friend Angie to call me.
I tried to pass time by doing my homework, and when I was done with that studying occupied my time. Even though I'm trying to focus on the text and the notes that I'm writing, I'm overly excited for Angie and Tyra to come over. I have so much to talk about and it's just always good times with them. Having Angie and Tyra as my friends is great; like two angels on my shoulders. Except they aren't that holy.
I push my book and my journal off of my lap. Just then my phone buzzed.
Angie: I'm outside.
I hop out of bed and practically run out of my room, and downstairs.
I push the curtain to the side and smile at Angie through the glass and she makes a cute face with her famous look: the duck face and a peace sign. I unlock the door and open it.
"Hey gorgeous..." She drags out, as I move over for her to enter. I close the door behind her.
"We got a hour until Tyra gets off from practice." I said as we walk upstairs to my room. "So let's try to order some food and watch a movie. 'Cause I have so much to tell ya'll."
Tyra, my best friend, has cheerleading practice and only God knows how long their practices last. Maybe two hours... Me trying to shut my mouth right now is the hardest thing. We always, all three of us, talk about the gossip together. If I have a secret, all three of us have a secret and vice versa. I know I can't spill teas to Angie without Tyra being here. So to pass time—which I'm tired of doing— I think to order pizza.
I flip through channels, in attempts to find something good to watch. Angie on the other hand is taking selfies on my phone.
"O-M-G." Angie cries out. "Anytime I get a good angle, your boyfriend keeps on face timing you." I laugh as she declines his call, probably the second time.
"Not my boyfriend!" I said. "We just talk, and use your own phone." I said and quickly grab my phone from her.
I call Kevin back, pressing the phone to my ear. I toss the remote to Angie only to see her rush over to me. Like the nosey person she is, she sits next to me and puts her ear to the phone.
I roll my eyes playfully, and hold in my laugh once the ringing stops. "Hello?... Hey Kevin."
"Hey, you would never believe what happened today in journalism club..." A simple "hey, how are you doing?" first would've been nice. But with him, it's all about him and his issues.
I listen halfway. On and on he goes about some type of debate they went through to see who would get the best article cover—something I couldn't care less about.
"I can't really talk right now." I said abruptly, cutting him off. Maybe if he could've asked me about my day I would've kind of been in a pleasant mood to listen to his story. I hear him sigh. "Sorry." I grumbled; sarcastically more than meaningful.
"Miya..." He says with a dramatic tone. "Lately I've been feeling like you don't care about what I have to say." He confessed.
How dare he? I'm one of the most caring people ever! At least that's what I believe, He's acting like he cares for what I have to say, let alone what I feel. You didn't even ask me about my day remember, huh? Ring a bell?
