Chris
No reply or nothing. I guess that answers my question. I did something wrong, but what? I do remember calling Miya yesterday, she had told me she's out with Tyra and Angie. Then telling me she'll call me back, but never did.
The last text I received, which was at five p.m. was: study for your test on Tuesday.
Cool. I'll study, but can I get a text back? Guess not. I got ready for school while calling her. I left the phone on speaker and let the ringing continue.
And...
Voicemail. I hear the beep and rush over to my phone. "Aight, another missed call... So I'm guessing you're not riding with me. I'll see you when I see you, I guess." I mumbled.
Walking into the school building, I knew I was late. I don't know why I decided to stop by Miya's house, she wasn't there and that basically took my ten minutes to realize.
My mind is currently on an overload. I thought over and over, I didn't do anything major. I don't remember if I did. It's not the family dinner thing, because she was upset but not that upset to ignore me.
What if she's sick or something? Oh my God, she has been acting kind of depressed lately, could that mean she's really sick or something? She could've lost her phone? Either two makes sense, because Miya always replies to me.
I walk into the classroom and Ms. Joann greets me with a glare. I purse my lips and walk towards my seat.
"Hey Chris." Tiana says.
"Sup." I give her a head nod. I couldn't even give her a smile or anything, because my eyes stay focused on Miya. There she sat with her phone in her hand. It's one thing for her not to even look at me when I walked in, but I KNOW she received my texts, and voicemails.
I take my seat and view the board-who am I kidding, I'm definitely not worried about classwork at the moment.
"Miya?" I call to her, with a whisper. She looks over to me. "You didn't reply to my text, why?"
"You take your time to reply to me, so I can do the same." She says. Now that's a damn lie. And I guess someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed, yet again.
I furrow my eyebrows, jerking my head back. "You being for real?" I pull my phone out and go straight to our text messages, ready to prove her wrong. "Thirty minutes, that's the longest you had to wait for a text back from me. Any other time I was sleep or something."
"No." She said. "It's- I don't have time for this. Do your warm up." She waved her hand, dismissing me.
"Man forget that. But you know what.... Whatever you're mad at, I take the blame. I'm sorry." I say. "We good now?"
I'm tired of having to guess what's wrong. I'm completely confused, so let's just bypass the issue.
"How about, good morning Miya?" She paused and looked at me. "You good Miya? What's the matter Miya, 'cause I know you always text me in the morning. How about that instead of pressing me then giving me a wack ass apology." She snaps and shifts her eyes back to her phone.
Well damn.
I make an oops face, and turn to see the board. I get my paper and pencil set in my desk. She's right but she's getting mad out of nowhere, I don't have to put up with that. I shouldn't. I glance at her, but she's busy on her phone. I turn my head back start to work on my warm up.
"Know something?" She starts. "You're getting a little to cocky with our relationship. Just because I'm in love with doesn't mean I'm going to let you walk all over me." I hear her say in one breath.
