Chris.

I glanced at Jennifer one last time, before running over to the line. I can't believe this just happened. I had Miya in the palm of my hands. I could tell she was feeling me, I could tell that this date would've been the start of everything. Now it's all going to waste.

I stood behind Miya, not knowing if I should tap her or not. So, I cleared my throat, but she didn't turn around.

"Miya... I'm sorry." I rubbed the back of my neck. "Girls right? What can I say?" I then chuckled as Miya turned around. She furrowed her eyebrows. Immediately I regretted what I just said. "I mean... Girls like her. Not you 'cause you're perf- you're Miya." I uttered nervously.

"Don't apologize." She said as she turned back around, to move up in the line. "To be honest, I don't care." She spat.

I sighed, what to do?

"Can I pay for your shoes?" I quzzied. It was her turn in line and this idea sounds good. Right? Right. So I'll just pay for her shoes, she'll smile her beautiful smile and we'll happily walked out of here.

"No." I was wrong, I thought to myself as Miya continued on. "I'll pay for myself. I don't need you to pay for me." She pulled out her credit card.

I grabbed her hand. "I insist." I pressured, giving her a smile.

"Chris. I'm fine." She snapped, snatching her hand away from me as she handed the cashier her credit card.

She got her way, of course. After paying for her shoes she walked passed me, giving me a whiff of her perfume. I trailed behind her as Jennifer stood at the exit, I guess waiting for us.

Kill me now.

"Okay. So I'm just going to let you know one thing." Jennifer scolded, rolling her neck. "I don't know who you think you are. But don't wave me off like I'm some dog... Okay? Because-"

"Aye. Cool out." I spat. "You're doing way to much. And it's unnecessary."

"But Chris I thought-" Jennifer began to pout.

"Thought what?" I scoffed. I grabbed Miya's hand trying to get us away from this madwoman. Miya snatched away and gave Jennifer the meanest glare ever, still sexy, but mean as hell.

"Girl..." She began, as a small a chuckle escaped her lips. "You're just hella mad for- you know what? Let me calm down before I hurt your feelings." Jennifer rolled her eyes, as Miya laughed in her face.

"Hurt my feelings? I'd like to see you try." Jennifer scoffed. I grabbed Miya's hand as she snickered to herself, then opened her mouth to speak.

"Okay. You're just mad he didn't take you nowhere outside of the bedroom. We don't even go out and look-" I flung Miya out of the footlocker. Leaving Jennifer there mad. Miya snatched away from me forcefully.

"Miya don't feed into her childishness." I calmly spoke as we began walking further from the Footlocker. "I promise, next time we go somewhere, I won't let no one disrespect you like that. First and last time, that will never happen again."

"I'm not feeding into her childishness! I said the truth!" Miya cried out.

"Okay... But still." I was trying to be calm. I didn't want her being mad at me, but I think it's too late.

"But still what?" She snapped. "I don't have time for things like this, I'm not that type of girl Chris. I'm not that type of girl!" Miya walked ahead of me as she ran her fingers through her hair. I caught up to her, walking by her side.
