Miya
Chris held the door open for us as we walked inside the Ruby Tuesdays. His silence made me feel uneasy the whole time. I was only try to protect him. I'd seen what drugs did to my mom, you're only going to want to get higher and higher, using stronger drugs. But he was making me feel like I did the wrong thing. Especially with his choice of words.
I fought the urge to just call off the date. We stood to the side as some people were waiting to get a free table.
"Miya?" He cooed. He leaned on the wall eyeing me. I looked up waiting from him to speak. "Why you acting all quiet?" He chuckled.
"Because you were." I grumbled, walking closer to him. "You're acting like you're mad."
"I ain't mad. You just annoying at times." He said with a fake tone of anger. "I can't be mad at you, with your cute ass." He reached out and squeezed my nose.
I quickly smacked his hand away. "I'm not annoying. You're annoying." I mumbled, crossing my arms over my chest. He smiled and pulled me closer, draping his arm around me.
The usher ushers us to a booth, placing our menus down and informing us our waiter would be coming shortly.
I situated myself in the chair and placed my purse next to me.
"Hey beautiful, can you smile?" Chris leans over the table and places his fingers on my face, forcing me to smile. I chuckled as a blush flushes my cheek.
"So yeah, what's new?" He quizzes. He leans back and looks through the menu.
My mind wanders off to my mom. She's moving in with me by the end of this week. I've been having major anxiety. Throughout this week my dad and I will be helping her move her stuff into the guest bedroom. I was excited yet scared at how everything will clash. I look up, locking eyes with Chris. He eagerly waits for me to talk, which makes me realize he hasn't met my mom.
"Chris you never met my mom." I gasp. I talk about Chris to my mom all the time, and vice versa. "You have to meet her."
"Whenever, wherever." He said cheerfully.
"Okay, so... She's moving in officially on Friday. Can you be there, with me?"
"Of course and I'm still shocked your dad is okay with that. Bro... Where is this waiter?" He glances around and I do the same.
"Yeah, he's cool with it." My dad never really mentioned it after we made the agreement. Guess it's just not something he wants to really talk about.
"Alright, I have news." He says. "I got the job. I can now be like the black version of Alex from Target. Call me Chris from Burger King."
I chuckle and roll my eyes playfully. "That's great so..." I trail off the minute I see David. I shift away and mentally pray he's not our waiter. He completely creeped me out that day he stopped me in the hallway, grabbing on me and his intense looks.
"Ooh, baby ain't your modeling show, like what? Next week?" Chris quizzes as he looks through the menu.
"Yeah." I said lowly. Looking down, I was still attempting not to grab David's attention.
"Ima be all that's my baby killing it right there! With her fine ass." Chris says loudly and looks in a direction as if I'm modeling there. People start to glance at him because of his rowdiness. "Then I'll say. Yes baby! You-"
