Miya

Wonder what it is, I wonder why his tone seems so dead. As if it's something that's bothering him. The fear of him growing tired of me never once evaded, I always had that thought stuck in the back of my mind. Maybe our arguments were signs that I chose to ignore because of this deep felt emotion that I feel when I'm with him.

I raise the blankets to cover my body, still holding the phone to my ear. "You don't seem okay, is something bothering you?"

The line was dead. "I'm fine..." He says. "What time is it over there, right now?"

"One-thirty." I mumble.

He never asked me about my voicemail. Maybe he didn't listen to it, maybe he's waiting for me to bring it up? I want to share it with him but I can't. I don't want to make it a Miya moment when he's not feeling well. No matter how much he says he's fine I know him to well.

"Your flight in a couple of hours, you should get some rest." He suggests.

"Chrissy I don't want to go to sleep knowing something's wrong with you, tell me what's wrong." I press. "Is it me?"

"No baby, I'm fine I promise." He said.

"You sure?"

"Dead ass, now get some rest. I'll be seeing you... I kind of wanna go on date when you get here." He said, causing me to smile. "You said Tyra is going to pick you up from the airport, right?"

"Yeah." I said while yawning.

Chris chuckles for a moment. "See, you're tired. Now goodnight." I can tell he's smiling.

"Goodnight, I love you." I sing into the phone.

He clears his throat. "Uh-huh, uh love you too..."

As early as it is Kaden decided to come over to ride with us, Xavier and I, to the airport. I honestly don't mind, because we became the best of friends so fast.

I'm still tired and ready to fall asleep again. I laid my head down on the counter and try to check off my mental to-do list:

Called dad and mom, called and texted Tyra to remind her, and I think that's about it.

"Miya?" A voice called. I raised my head up to see the photographer from the photo shoot. "That's your name, right?"

Oh yeah, he did come in with Kaden. I remember him giving me a slight head nod when he strolled in. He's the type to mind his business, be on his own, well that's what it seems like. Every time I look at him he's always messing with his camera.

I nod. He taps the counter, making a small beat. "So you model? Like in L.A?" He asks.

"No, not really." I paused.  "I mean I do, in school."

He nods slowly. "School modeling, that's cute." He chuckles, as I roll my eyes. "No, I didn't mean it like that. I'm just, it's because when you were at the photo shoot I just assumed that you're upcoming or a rookie model or something like that."

"Yeah, that was just luck." I snicker. "So this..." I motion towards the camera the hung on his neck. "Is it like your main job, or?"
