I lied there in my hospital bed staring out the small stained glass window. I sighed. "What's wrong with you kid?" The person in the bed next to me asked. I looked over to him holding up my wrists. "Suicide?" I nodded. "Why do you do that?" I shrugged. "Don't talk much do you." I sighed picking up my pen and paper. I'm mute. I wrote. The person read it nodding. "Sucks being here doesn't it. It's just depressing." I nodded in agreement. "Hearing those people flat lining." The boy looked up to his monitor. "Don't know how mines still going." I sighed looked at mine. "Me too. What's your name?" I wrote. "Cameron." The boy said. "And you?" I looked back to my paper. "Ashton." I wrote. He smiled. "Nice to meet you Ashton." I smiled. "Cameron." A nurse popped her head in. "20 minutes until surgery. We're going get you prepared for it down the hall." He nodded. He looked back at me. "What are you getting surgery on?" I wrote. "Liver transplant. They told me I desperately need it done." I nodded looking down. "You won't be alone for long. I'll be back." I nodded. They all say that. I thought. They all say that.•1 hour later•
My eyes continued to stare out the same window they have since I got there. Ashton! Her voice screamed in my head. I shook my head. "Get out." I said to myself. The voice subsided. I breathed out. Then I heard the door open. "Cameron?" I mouthed. "He'll be asleep for awhile Ashton." The nurse said. I nodded. "Okay."Hours rolled on. Cameron didn't wake up so I still sat there waiting. The glass of the window shined colors into the room. I sighed. I then heard a squeaking noise. "Cameron?" I looked over to him. Cameron's body seemed to be seizing up. I reached for my call remote. I pressed the call button as many time as I could. Nurses rushed in. "Ashton?" I pointed to Cameron. The nurses rushed to his bedside. I pulled my legs up to my chest. Please don't go. I thought. Then I heard a loud beeping sound. I looked at Cameron his body stopped moving. I shook my head. "Cameron Manson died August 13, 2014 at approximately 4:30 pm." A nurse said pulling a sheet over his head. I shook my head again. The nurses walked out. I looked at the window. The sun reflected on the red part of the glass. The whole room was turned red. "Goodbye Cameron. My only friend."
•Flashback over•
I sat up in my bed my breathing heavy. I looked over to Cody's bed. He wasn't there. I stood up and walked into the hall. I could hear screams of the insane coming form every direction. I covered my ears as I walked to Lily's room.I knocked on Lily's door. "Ashton." She said smiling. I walked in. "Hey Ryan." They looked at me confused. "You talked?" I sighed. "Yeah." I said. Lily pulled me into a hug. "I'm proud of you." I smiled. "What's going on in Luke's room?" I asked. "I heard screams." Lily's eyes widened. "I don't know." She ran out of the room. Then Ryan and I followed after her.
We all got to Luke's room. Lily banged on the door. "Luke! Or whoever's in there open the door!" Then a boy with blood dripping down the side of his head opened the door. "Michael what the fuck sit down." The boy, Michael walked back to the bed and winced with every move he made. "Calum," Lily said. "Where's Luke?" Calum shrugged. "He locked the door. He's doing something in there. The last noise I heard from in there was a bang." He shook his head. Lily walked over to the door. She then pulled something out of her hair and placed it in the lock. She managed to get the door to pop open. Then there lied Luke a bottle of pills in his hand. "Fuck."
