The air in Sarah's room was surprisingly fresher than any other room in all of the Outer Banks. Thanks to Ward Cameron's fortune, they were able to afford A/Cs even after the hurricane hit. Avery laid on her friend's bed , staring at the ceiling while Sarah paced around, clearly riled up.

The blonde threw her hands in the air, "And then he said, 'You're exactly who I thought you were, Sarah Cameron'. Like - what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" Sarah finished her story, exhaling deeply.

"This Kook versus Pogue thing is BS." Avery answered, turning her head slightly. "They can say all they want, but they're just as wrapped up in it as we are."

"Right! It's like we're a threat to them just because we have money." Sarah complained, sinking onto the bed besides Avery.

"To be fair, if Maybank gets caught - he's in deep shit. Topper would've walked away without a scratch." Avery replied with a sigh, "And for John B, he's probably just pissed about Topper and he's taking it out on you by association - don't take it personally."

"He's accusing me of blabbing to my dad about him taking our scuba gear. I'd say that's personal." Sarah sighed, loudly groaning in frustration.

"Why would they even need scuba gear?" Avery thought out loud, frowning, "Pretty sure none of them knows how to dive properly."

"Good, maybe they'll drown." Sarah said sarcastically, obviously still very pissed at John B.

Avery laughed, shaking her head, "You don't mean that."

Her blonde friend joined her laughter, "No, I don't."

After some more gossip, Topper invited Sarah and Avery to join him for a boat day. Despite her reluctance to be a third wheel, she couldn't resist the allure of the water.

Once in the water, Topper drove the boat, one of his hands resting on the wheel while the other rested on Sarah's ass. Avery sat in the back of the boat, her legs sprawled out in front of her while she basked in the sun.

Not even fifteen minutes into their ride, she glanced over at a passing boat and spotted the Pogues, her heart racing at the sight of them. JJ was sitting shirtless, sunglasses shielding his eyes, but she could feel his gaze on her somehow. His lips curled into a smirk before he turned back to Kiara - who sat near him in her bikini.

Avery's thoughts drifted, torn between the world she knew and the thrill of the unknown that the Pogues represent.

Unfortunately for Avery, it wasn't an actual boat day. Sarah and Topper forgot to mention that it was actually a clean the beach day. Kelce sneaked some alcohol in his cooler, making sure to share it with Sarah, Topper and Avery.

Once at their destination, Avery discovered that it wasn't a boat day but a beach cleanup. Needless to say, she was pissed. As Topper and Sarah lost themselves in their own world - helped by a hidden bottle of vodka, gifted by Kelce - Avery wandered away, seeking a moment to herself.
