"It's scary how good of a liar you are." Avery said, catching up to JJ just before he could slip inside the Twinkie.

She'd stayed at the Château last night - too drunk to drive herself back to Figure 8. They'd all been pretty wasted, and they'd agreed it was easier if she stuck around. Plus, they'd planned on pawning off the gold the next day, which was exactly what JJ had just managed to pull off.

JJ scoffed playfully, glancing at her "Might I remind you of your own lies back at the salvage yard?"

She tilted her head, thinking it over. "I wasn't really lying though. There was a flat tire."

The blond raised an eyebrow as he tugged open the door to the Twinkie, "Then you're a damn good charmer." He said, complimenting her without much thought, before climbing into the van.

His words caught her off guard. For a second, she froze, unsure how to respond. There was something in his voice - something that didn't quite fit with the usual banter. But she shook it off and followed him inside, settling on the seat in front of him. Once everyone was in, John B started the engine, and they all set off toward the warehouse the woman had mentioned - supposedly where she kept the money. They were all skeptical, but none of them could deny the allure of the cash.

"I've never even heard of Resurrection Drive." Sarah said, turning to look at the group in the back.

" 'Cause you're rich." JJ mumbled under his breath, absently fiddling with the brick of gold in his lap.

"You've never heard of it either." Kie shot back, defending Sarah, her tone almost playful.

Avery stifled a laugh, glancing out the window. "There's nothing but weeds out here." She pointed out.

"All right, just 'cause it's just weeds, doesn't mean it's, like..." JJ started to explain, but his words were interrupted by the sudden sound of sirens wailing from behind them. Avery whipped her head around, her heart skipping a beat as she caught sight of the flashing lights.

"Cops? Out here?" she asked, her voice tense.

"God! Are you kidding me?" JJ curse, his eyes wide with panic. He immediately started scrambling to gather all the illegal things he had in the van, stuffing them haphazardly into his backpack. Kie, the voice of reason, started trying to calm everyone down, but the situation was spiraling. Avery leaned forward, helping JJ as he rushed, his movements frantic.

Pope, trying to hurry them up, only made it worse, causing JJ to drop half the stuff he was trying to grab. The disarray was growing by the second.

"Did you bring the gun?" John B quickly asked as soon as the Twinkie came to a stop on the side of the road.

"No, okay? Everybody told me to leave it back at the place." JJ announced, wrapping the brick of gold inside a cloth.

"Thank God." Kie sighed, "Please, everything else in your bag."
