The darkness was suffocating. It was all I could, well . . . see.
"C'mon, Nya. Make sure you're keeping up!" I heard Steve call jokingly, but I couldn't see past my feet, let alone a three blocks ahead of me. I gulped.
I hate the dark with a reasonable amount of fiery passion.
Suddenly, a blinding light shone like a becon, and the entire cavern was illuminated by a pale orange glow. I could now see Steve's face. He smiled at me, but his warm smile soon faded.
"Nya. Turn around," he whispered.
I never could of imagined what I saw.
The wall of the cavern was a pure square. In the shape of a head. But that wasn't what startled me the most. The head looked almost exactly the same as Steve's. Only . . .
This head's eyes were glowing white.
I nearly fell over. I looked around. On the other side of the cavern, a large gold shrine was shining, reflecting the eire glow of the torch. Steve was just staring at the head. Completely mesmerized. Flaming netherack was placed all over the room, but it was strange... The fire produced no light. I gasped. The fire was black.
"W-what is this?" I murmured to Steve. He didn't listen. He was still in his own universe.
I walked over to the golden 'shrine'. The shimmering, rich blocks were placed in fancy patterns, completely symmetrical, but something seemed odd. I had this cold feeling; something at the back of my mind I could shake off. I realised what it was with a shock I managed to mask with as much calm I could muster.
We were being watched.
