Herobrine's Legend (The Wielder Chronicles Book One)

Herobrine's Temple

Zach's POV

What. Was. This. Place?

Herobrine.

The name kept repeating itself in my mind.

Everyone had heard of the legend.

The Legend of Herobrine.

I just sat there, trying to process all the information.

I kept staring at the inscription in the wall, and I noticed something else just beside it.

A button.

I pressed it sub-consciously, not really knowing why. Two stone blocks were pulled to the side, revealing a dark, lone path leading deeper underground.

I slowly walked down it. The dark was suffocating, but the silence was even worse.

I've never been this scared before. It's like I could literally sense the evil around me.

I pulled my sword. What can I say, it was a habit.

As I walked deeper and deeper through the narrow passageway, I could see something ahead of me. A strange orange glow.

Once I got to the source of the light, I was beyond confused, surprised and mostly, afraid.

The room was a complete square. Three walls were filled of paintings and messages. The drawings were gruesome. The wall ahead of me was lava from the roof to the ground.

I stepped forward, not noticing the camouflaged pressure plate which shut the passageway behind me. I was trapped

I looked around the room. Something was strange about it. Like... The drawings were telling me something. I walked over to the left wall, in which the only happy painting hung. It was a lush forest, with a happy looking family standing in front of a wooden house. But that wasn't what really caught my attention...

In the picture, there were two adults. The parents, I'm guessing.

A little girl was on the father's shoulders.

And in front of the mother...

Was a boy. With a cyan shirt and purple pants and blue eyes, much deeper and darker than mine.

The boy in the painting...

Was a younger version of Steve.
