Nya's POV

I'm an archer. I knew better than to follow him - a swordsman - into the thick of battle. But that didn't stop my heart flipping when he disappeared from my view.

I climbed the nearest tree. Not too high. Good.

I loaded my first arrow. Shot it at the closest zombie. It collapsed with an 'erg' and vaporized into thin air.

I couldn't see Zach, but I could hear the zombie's death sounds that were coming from behind a small tree about twenty or so blocks away. Sounded like he was winning the fight.

Just then, something leaped at me from behind. I toppled over the edge of the tree and fell, the zombies waiting rather impatiently below.

I landed on my ankle. Very hard.

The pain was excruciating. I couldn't move. And zombies were everywhere.

Ok, Nya, what now? I couldn't move, and the zombies were all around me, still in a daze (me falling really surprised them that much?) but they wouldn't stay that way for long.

The first one stepped forward. As if on cue, so did the others. I screamed.

Zach's POV

Battling these slow, weak monsters one-on-one was easy. Doing so against about a dozen was not.

They just kept coming. I slashed and stabbed, but I could feel myself becoming more and more tired.

I heard a scream. Oh no. Nya.

I looked up at the tree where she was shooting from. She wasn't there.

Looking below the tree, at least eight zombies were forming a circle and slowly closing in. I heard her scream again.

"NYA, IM COMING!" That grabbed the zombie's attention. But only about three turned around. The rest kept going after Nya. Why isn't she moving?

I sprinted over, killing every zombie in sight. Once they were all dead, I checked Nya.

She was lying on the ground, unconscious. Her ankle was swelling up and on a funny angle. That must hurt like hell. So thats why she didn't move.

I heard a growl. Turning around, I could see the zombies still coming for Nya and I. Raising my sword, I stayed by Nya's side. She'll be easier to protect that way.

The zombies advanced forward.
