"Ummi" madeeha called.

"Ammi just two more minutes pls" ummi said in a sleepy voice.
Madeeha chuckled sadly, she pitied ummi.

"Ummi wake up, it's 12:00 already you will get late" madeeha said shaking her.

Ummi opened her eyes but she was still sleepy.

"Late for what?" Ummi asked and madeeha mentally face palmed herself.

"Ummi you have a hearing by 2:00 wake up" madeeha said.

"What hearing?" She asked and then realization dawned on her and she started panicking.

"Ya ilahi, how can I forget about the case. I didn't even read through the file you know" she panicked.

"Stop panicking and get ready then you can just brush through Ohk" madeeha said and left.

Ummi rushed into the bathroom. Did her business, took her bath and performed ablution. When she came out it's already 12:40.

She hurriedly dressed up, put everything in place and prayed zuhr.

She went down to prepare something to eat since she knows that everyone has already had breakfast.

She went into the kitchen and decided to prepare strawberry pancakes. 

As she brought out the things to start, samiah came into the kitchen.

"What are you preparing?" Samiah asked and ummi rolled her eyes.

Ummi turned her expression calm. "Samiah what do you want?"

Samiah sauntered closer, her smile taunting. "I just wanted to see if you're stills stuck in the past".

Ummi's eyes narrowed "you think you have won, don't you? Marrying ya salim and taking my place".

Samiah's laughter was mocking "won? I have conquered. You're just a forgotten chapter".

Ummi's hand clenched into a fist. Her expression remained blank. Samiah didn't want ummi to stop talking, so she will taunt her as much as possible and draw her faraway from ya salim. But then ummi will always be ummi.

Samiah's eyes sparkled with malice. She reached out and grasped ummi's hand, her grip tight  "you're still holding on to the past ummi. Let go".

Ummi knew that samiah won't let her be. She tried to pull away but samiah held firm. With a sudden burst of strength, ummi pushed Samiah's hand away.

Just then, ya salim appeared in the doorway. Samiah's expression transformed, she stumbled backward, clutching unto her stomach.

Ummi was facing samiah while samiah was facing the door where ya salim stood.

"What did I do to you ummi?" Samiah asked clutching unto her stomach with fake tears.
