"When will they be here?" Lucas asked.

"I don't know, honey. Soon," I said.

We were awaiting the arrival of Lauren and Sarah. They were supposed to text once they landed, but they were supposed to land about a half hour ago. As far as I knew, there weren't any weather issues. Lauren had also texted me when they were about to board the plane, and they were on schedule then.

I was beginning to worry. Either something happened on the plane and they were in danger, they were running late, they'd forgotten to text me, or some other weird thing.

I sent Lauren a text.

A little worried. You guys at the airport yet?

I tried to get my mind off it, and the perfect distraction came when Zelda began to cry.

"I got her," I said as Bobby started to get up.

I went into our room and picked her up, and right as I touched her she stopped crying. I guess she just wanted to be held. Sarah and Lauren were coming on a good day.

I carried her out to the living room and sat down in the rocking chair.

She looked up at me with her wide eyes, something that only happened up to three times a day most of the time.

"Hello, Zelda," I said in a baby voice. "Did you have a good nap?"

She yawned in reply and I smiled at her.

"Your aunties are on their way," I said. "This'll be your first time meeting them."

She continued to stare up at me. I ran my fingers over her soft, tiny hand. She grasped my thumb, and I smiled.

That was one of my favorite things about newborns. Whenever one grabbed my thumb (especially newborns that were my own children), I felt like they were comforting me in the best way they could. Because it was practically the only way they could communicate other than crying, I felt like it was their way of saying something.

Just moments after she'd grasped my thumb, the doorbell rang. It could really only be a handful of people, but I was ninety nine percent sure I knew who it was.

Bobby looked at me, asking me with his eyes which one of us should get it.

"They're here!" Lucas said excitedly.

Bobby and I stood up at the same time and made our way to the door. Zelda was still holding my thumb, and her eyes were still open.

"You didn't tell me her eyes were open," Bobby said, staring down at her.

"Sorry," I said. "But maybe we can argue about it later. Can you let them in now?"

He laughed quietly and opened the door.

The greeting consisted of lots of excited name exclamations, hugs, and jumping up and down of two little boys.

"You know, you could've told us that you landed," I said when we'd settled down a bit. "One of us could've picked you guys up."

"We thought about that," Lauren said with a smile. "But it didn't seem right to have you take your newborn baby or all of your children to the airport."

"Or leave the other here to deal with all the kids alone," Sarah chimed in. "Plus, we wanted to surprise you a little."

I smiled.

"Well, this is Zelda Victoria. In all her glory," I said, looking down at her.

Her eyes were miraculously still open, but I could tell she would be sound asleep again shortly.

"She's so beautiful," Lauren said.

"And she has your eyes, I see," Sarah said.

"Yep. My eyes, Bobby's nose."

Lucas then turned the attention back to him, talking to Sarah and Lauren about everything that had happened since he'd last seen them.

Ness was talking a little, too. But he was still being pretty shy around them for the most part.

They knew he could talk now because they informed me that the video was 'so adorable' and that they 'couldn't wait to hear it in the same room as him'. Quite the godparents we'd chosen.

A few hours later, Sarah and Lauren were practically fighting to hold Zelda. She was loved, that was for sure.

It was always nice to have guests that adored the kids in the house. It made everything easier, especially when the boys were as friendly as they were with Lauren and Sarah.

Because Sarah and Lauren were so interested in the kids, Bobby and I had more time to be alone. Not in the sense of going to the bedroom and making out, but at least some type of flirting without being found by one of the boys.

"We need to get a babysitter soon," Bobby said.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because I'm getting impatient," he said, running his hands down my sides.

A shiver ran up my spine but I ignored it and rolled my eyes.

"Who's the horny one now?" I asked.

"Don't act like you're fine. You're the one who's been fussing about it for nine months," he said.

"Yeah, but now I'm busy taking care of a newborn baby. I'm not ready to let her leave the house for the night yet," I said.

"You know she'll be fine with your parents," Bobby said, running his fingers over the palms of my hands. "And you know we need some alone time soon."

I sighed, looking down. Then I nodded. "I'm just worried about her. She's our first premature one."

"I know," he said. "But she's fine, isn't she?"

I nodded. "I guess."

He ran his hands back up my sides. He moved them to my hair, and pulled his lips to mine.

We kissed passionately for a few seconds, then he moved to my neck. I bit back a moan and he moved to my collarbone. I took a deep breath to steady myself and moved his lips back to mine. We kissed again for just a little while before I pulled away.

"You can't tell me you don't want alone time," Bobby said. "Definitely not after that."

I sighed. He was right. We needed to find some alone time.

By 6:00, I was feeding Zelda, Bobby was making supper, and Ness, Lucas, Sarah, and Lauren were coloring at the table. It was actually fairly quiet in our house for once, the radio being the only thing heard except Lucas's voice and the occasional comment from Sarah or Lauren.

I burped Zelda and laid her down before shooing away everyone at the table in order to set it. Then supper was ready.

It wasn't a very eventful day, or at least not yet.

At around 8, we were giving the boys a warning that it was bedtime in a half hour. Sarah was holding onto Zelda, who should've been asleep, but instead had her eyes wide open and was looking at her auntie as if she was mesmerized. Bobby was sitting next to me on the couch, holding my hand and occasionally playing with my hair.

And then the events started happening.

"Uh, Christina?" Sarah said, and I could hear the worry in her voice.

"Yeah?" I asked, pulling my hand away from Bobby.

"Has she ever done this before?"

Lauren looked over and gasped, and then I saw Zelda move just slightly. I practically ran over to see what was happening. Her eyes were rolling.

"She keeps, like, almost flexing and unflexing her muscles," Sarah said.

"Bobby," I said. "Call 911."
