Sarah and Lauren stayed home with the boys. I didn't care what time they got to bed anymore. I didn't care if they both threw a tantrum as soon as we got home. All I cared about was that Zelda was OK.

"She was having a seizure," the doctor said. "A fever-induced seizure. It's a very normal thing, but normally occurs between the ages of six months and two years."

"Do you think she has... oh what's it called? It causes seizures throughout their life..." my voice trailed off.

"Epilepsy?" the doctor said.

"Yes," I answered. "Do you think she has epilepsy?"

The doctor shook his head. "I can't guarantee anything, Ms. Grimmie, but I doubt she has epilepsy. I do think she has the flu, though. High fevers tend to cause seizures sometimes in infants, and she is starting to show flu-like symptoms. She will be hospitalized for at least one night, and we'll update you in the morning. Which hospital would you like her to be at?"

I gave the doctor all the information he needed and we drove our poor little newborn back to the hospital.

"She's been away from here for a week," I said. "I don't want her to have to go through this."

He squeezed my hand. "After this she'll be OK. We need her to go through this in order for her to be better in the long run. It'll be worth it."

After explaining everything to the doctor at the hospital, we went home. We went home with three empty car seats.

"If we didn't have such an eventful night before this maybe we could've gotten a hotel room," Bobby said, pulling his hand from mine and placing it on my thigh.

"Not now, Bobby. I'm really not in the mood after tonight."

"I know," he said with a sigh. "But it was definitely worth a shot."

"We will sometime," I said. "Sometime soon. Just not now."

I grabbed his hand again, moving it off my thigh.

"Plus, it's not like Sarah and Lauren wouldn't notice," I said.

He nodded.

Then we were home.

The boys were asleep, Sarah and Lauren left sitting on the couch. It was around 10:30 now.

We explained everything to them, and I realized just how tired I was.

Within twenty minutes, I was in my pajamas, my head leaning on Bobby's shoulder, practically asleep.

"Christina," Lauren said softly, "I'm gonna head to bed. I'll see you in the morning. Maybe we can all visit Zelda together."

I opened my eyes slightly. "We'll see how well behaved the boys are. But hopefully." My voice was raspy.

"Yeah, I'm going to sleep, too," Sarah then said. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight," I whispered, shutting my eyes again.

"Goodnight, guys," Bobby chimed in.

I heard their footsteps down the stairs and stayed laying there in silence. Bobby started playing with my hair.

I was on the verge of sleep, and he said, "We should go to bed, too."

I groaned. "I don't wanna move."

"Baby-"

"Just five more minutes," I said.

"Let's just go to sleep in our bed, honey."

I groaned again.

He moved beneath me, and his lips were against mine. He ran his tongue over my bottom lip and I allowed him entrance. A few seconds later, I broke the kiss.
