Authors Note: Just a heads up this chapter deals with torture and murder.

Alice (POV):

Chains gripped my skin as I tried shifting my weight. A mix of copper and rotting flesh filled the air. The smell stung my nostrils as I laid there helplessly. The metal of the table they had me strapped to was starting to burn my skin as the temperature in the room began to rise even higher. I couldn't remember how long I had been trapped in this hell. They had separated Vivian and I sometime after I had blacked out. When I woke up the second time they had me strapped to a metal table in an empty room. Periodically a large man dressed in back from head to toe would come in and try different ways to torture me.

He started off by shoving wood beneath my fingernails. No matter how many times I asked him why they were doing this he stayed silent. I had begged him to stop but my screaming almost seemed to spur them on. The next time he entered the room he injected me with something that heightened my senses. Why might you ask? The drug he used amplified the pain. So when he sliced me with a scalpel over and over again I felt it ten fold. The injection also stopped my body from healing itself, which left me with what felt like thousands of open wounds.

Fun fact turns out the room they kept me in is also kind of like an oven. Every few hours the masked man would come down and crank it high enough to burn me but not kill me. I hated to admit it but I wanted him to kill me. My mind felt like it was breaking, turning into jelly. I didn't know how much more I could take. As much as I believed my mates could find me I was slowly losing hope. Every cut, every burn was slowly wearing my mind down. I knew it was only a matter of time before I cracked. Before just giving up on the will to live. The only thing keeping me going was the thought of my mates. The thought of getting to be in their arms again.

The temperature in the room began to drop again and a feeling of dread washed over me. I knew that just meant there was more to come. Any minute now the door would open and I would be put through a different kind of hell. I wondered to myself if this was ever going to stop or if this is what my life was going to be from now on. When the door swung open I realized it wasn't the masked figure standing there. No it was worse it was Wren. The heels of her boots clicked against the stone floors. With my heightened senses they sounded more like gun shots. I clenched my jaw tightly, there was no way I was going to let her see me look weak.

"You know I'm kind of impressed that you haven't cracked yet. I wonder how long it will take to crack that pretty mate of yours." Wren chuckled.

The air felt thick, almost suffocating as her words registered in my mind. "Violet." Rage filled my chest. "If you lay a finger on her I will skin you alive." I growled.

Wren rolled her eyes. "I don't think you are in a position to make threats right now." She scoffed. "So have you figured out why you are here?" She asked with an arched brow.

I smirked through the pain. "I'm not going to try to understand crazy." I said with a cough, my throat was still raw from all the screaming.

Wren chuckled as she leaned down next to my ear. "Mmmm I love when they still have some bite to them. Let's see how much you'll be running your pretty little mouth once I'm done with you." She whispered while a sharp blade began to pierce my skin.

The blade felt hot as it sliced the skin along my forearm. I clenched my jaw in an attempt to silence the screams that threatened to fall from my lips. My jaw was clenched so hard that I was surprised I didn't break my teeth from the pressure. Wren's movement stopped once the blade reached the inside of my elbow. Her lips brushed against the shell of my ear, I could feel the warmth of her breath against my skin. The sensation made me feel sick to my stomach.
