Jayden (POV):
It had been a couple days since Violet escaped the castle. After long talks and a few arguments we decided as a group that we had to go back to the castle. Based on the fact that Sophie and Violet had been held there it was more than likely that both Alice and Vivian would be there as well. My mom and her family had been iffy about rescuing Vivian. I couldn't blame them after everything that they had been through. On the other hand she was still my mom and I wasn't going to leave her there. I needed to hear her side of things, I needed to know that it was Wren behind everything. Surprisingly enough it had been my mum Ivy who had convinced them to go. She made them see that this wasn't about them it was about me.
Currently Aurora and I were getting ready to travel to the area we were going to set up a base camp. The location we had chosen was in a thicker part of the forest that was several miles away from the castle. Aurora was going to teleport us there with her magic. Jasmine on the other hand insisted that she was going to fly there with Violet. It was sweet that the two had become attached at the hip especially given the fact that they had a rocky start. Most of the time you could find Violet curled up in Jasmine's arms. The rest of the time she was sandwiched between Aurora and I, especially when Jasmine left to patrol the area. It had been interesting to see just how protective our Alpha could be. I knew that with her around we would be safe especially since I hadn't had my first shift yet.
Which leads me to our next possible obstacle, my shift. Tonight was the night of the bloodmoon which meant it was more than likely that I would have my first shift. Claire had explained to me what she did when my mom had her first shift. The plan was to set up the same barrier she had used back then. This time however my mates would be allowed inside the barrier. Mainly because Jasmine threatened their lives if they tried to separate us. Considering my grandma had been in with my mom during her shift Claire saw no issue with it. Plus Jasmine was adamant that there was no way I'd be able to out power her if things went wrong.
Depending on what happened after my shift my mom and grandma would take me further into the forest to learn how to use my new body. If things went smoothly we would head to the castle. Once we arrived Gabby, Storm, Aurora, and I were going to go first to announce that Violet had gone missing. Since we were due to arrive back it wouldn't raise any red flags. Jasmine and Violet were going to follow in using Jasmine's invisibility. According to Jasmine she's able to make other people invisible as long as she's touching them. Which is convenient since she insists on carrying Violet.
Kellan and Seth would enter near the clinic like they always do when they go hunting. Everyone else would wait until Aurora contacted them through their mindlink. The only reason the Violet, Jasmine, and I hadn't been added to the link yet was because we weren't officially a part of the pack. If we joined I'd have my mom as my Alpha. I couldn't see Jasmine or Alice wanting to follow someone else's orders. Honestly I couldn't see any of us following anyone but Alice or Jasmine. Aurora planned on removing the link once we rescued Alice. After this mess was done the five of us planned to travel for a while.
"Are you ready to go, Jay?" Aurora asked, looking up at me with a soft smile.
We had been waiting at the front of the house for Gabby, and Storm to join us. Claire had already gone ahead to start setting up camp. The rest of my family had left this morning and most likely wouldn't arrive until closer to nightfall.
"Whenever you are Rory." I replied as I scooped her up in my arms.
Aurora yelped in surprise as her body left the ground. Her arms wrapped around my neck as her legs wrapped around my waist. Our noses brushed together as my arms tightened around her hips. Her cool breath washed over my face and I couldn't help but inhale deeply.
