Jayden (POV):

When I found out we were going to be traveling by magic I had to admit I was both nervous and excited. Typically when I had travelled in the past it was by horse or in the odd instance mum would let me ride on her back. Even though we had Wren in our ranks it was too difficult for her to use her magic to transport everyone, so I never had the chance to experience it. When we first disappeared it felt like being on a rollercoaster, my stomach felt like it was caught in my throat. It felt as though time and space were being bent, the pure speed of it began to make me feel a little sick. By the time we landed in front of the Avery's house I felt more than a little motion sick. Luckily I had Aurora by my side the whole time, she must have noticed that I wasn't feeling well because moments after landing I felt my sickness start to dissipate. I figured she must have cast some sort of spell over me to settle my stomach which I was grateful for.

Meeting the Avery's was slightly overwhelming, Storm hadn't been kidding when she said she had a large family. Her immediate family alone consisted of ten people, four of them being her parents. Which was interesting all on its own, as we talked I learned that some of the Avery children weren't even blood related to each other. For example Delta and Logan who were mates had no blood relation with one another. Delta's parents were Dylan and Aria, whereas Logan's parents were Alex and Ivy. I had never seen anything quite like their family.

Other than Storms immediate family, Dylan's twin brother Wilder lived with them along with his mate and their son. They also had multiple houses out back where everyone outside of Dylan's immediate family lived. The only person who seemed to be the odd one out was Claire. According to Dylan she is a close family friend who decided to stay and help protect the pack. She kind of reminded me of Wren since she was a witch just like her. The main difference being that her magical aura gave off a more positive energy whereas Wrens felt darker and more twisted.

The only thing that had puzzled me about Storm and her family was the fact that I looked eerily similar to some of the Avery's. Violet had been right when she said that Dylan and I looked alike. Honestly it was a vast understatement, Dylan looked as though she could be my twin. Looking at her was the equivalent to looking at myself in the mirror. The only differences between Dylan and I were the fact that she was significantly taller than me, and her eyes were a bright blue unlike mine which were an emerald green.

"Jay, are you okay?" Aurora whispered, pulling me out of my thoughts.

For the last hour we had been hanging out in the living room. Everyone was chatting and catching up with one another. The energy in the room was warm and comforting, it almost made me forget that I had just met them. The energy alone made it impossible not to smile while being around Storm's family, they were all such an easy going group of people. Being around them made me think of all the fun times I spent with my own family. Not that my family was anything remotely like the Avery's. My family consisted of mum, Sophie, Kellan and Seth, they were the four people who meant the most to me. Well up until I found out about Aurora and Jasmine that is.

"Yeah I was just thinking about my family, I'm a tad homesick believe it or not." I whispered hoping no one would hear.

"Do you want to go for a walk? Some fresh air might help." She asked gently as she laced her fingers through my own.

"Yeah, some air might be nice." I said, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

"Jay and I are going to go for a walk, we will be back in a bit." Aurora announced as she pulled herself off the couch.

"Is everything okay?" Jasmine asked as she began to stand up.

I watched as Aurora approached Jasmine, she stood up on her tippy toes and wrapped her arms around Jasmine's neck. Aurora leaned her face in close next to Jasmine's ear. From where I was standing I couldn't hear what was being said between the two women. However whatever she did say made Jasmine give her a slight nod followed by a kiss to the forehead. Aurora pecked her cheek before releasing Jasmine and heading back over to me.
