Author's Note: This is another dark chapter.
Jasmine (POV):
My pulse pounded in my ears as I made my way through the castle halls. After the mind fuck that had happened when we stepped into Vivian's room I couldn't help but feel a little on edge. Never in all of my years of existence had anyone ever taken over my mind the way that Wren had. It was like being in another world where I had absolutely no control. Which honestly pissed me off, I knew it would take everything in me not to rip her head off the second I found her. No, I would let Dylan or Jenny have that pleasure. After all these years they certainly deserved it.
As I approached the door that Jayden had described to me, I could hear voices coming from inside the room. I knew I had to make some sort of distraction so I could slip into the room without revealing myself. Looking around I noticed a suit of armour that was set up just down the hallway. With a strong flap of my wings I sent a gust of wind hurtling at the suit of armour. It toppled over with a loud crash and the voices inside the room went silent. Standing as still as I could I waited for the door to the security room to open. Just as I predicted the door opened and out came a guard armed with an assault rifle.
Timing it perfectly I slipped inside just as the door began to close. Inside the room there were monitors that covered an entire wall. Each one showing a different part of the castle. A woman who I assumed was Wren based on the description Jayden had given me stood in front of the screens. She had a creepy grin on her face as her eyes darted from screen to screen. I kept a distance from her just to be safe. Looking at the screens I searched for the one that showed the dungeons.
The first thing that caught my eye was Jayden's family crossing across the castle's courtyard. They managed to stay out of view of the guards, the camera's however had a front row seat to the action. Deep down I knew they would be able to handle themselves perfectly fine given the amount of guards I had spotted. I did however feel a little nervous for them, we truly had no idea just how big Wren's army was. I watched a little longer before moving on to look for both Alice and Vivian. After a few seconds of taking in each monitor I spotted Alice and my heart sunk.
On the live feed Alice was strapped to a metal table. The chains that were wrapped around her looked like they were practically cutting into her skin. Alice's clothing was torn off of her and a sheet barely covered her lower half. She was covered from head to toe in cuts and bruises. My body began to tremble with rage and my stomach began to turn. The sight made me want to throw up as I stared at my mate. It took all the strength that I had not to blow my cover. Shaking my head slightly I continued to scan the monitors to look for Vivian. I almost didn't notice her on the screen, the room she was being held in was so dark.
Her arms were above her head restrained by thick metal cuffs. Her head was hanging down in an almost lifeless way. Blood was dripping down her arms and legs in thick lines. From the video I couldn't tell if she was even alive or dead. It looked like they just left her there to rot. I wasn't even sure what I was going to tell Jayden when I went back to them. The last thing I wanted to do was panic her, I needed her to have a level head so we could get in there and get out. Just as I finished looking at the monitors the door swung open.
"The hallway is clear." The guard said as he walked over to Wren. "The others are closing in on the castle."
"Make sure there's guards at every entrance, the others just crossed the perimeter. Kill everyone on sight but leave Jenny and Astrid for me." Wren said as they both left the room.
The door closed with a soft click and I let out a huge breath.
"Jay, can you hear me?" I whispered into our mind link.
