Aurora (POV):
Jasmine waved her hand in front of my face as I stood frozen in the middle of my bedroom. After dinner I escorted Violet back to her room before heading to my own. My mind was still spinning from what had happened at dinner. The fact that Vivian had agreed so easily to let Jayden leave the castle was a complete mind fuck. There was no doubt in my mind that Vivian had no idea what had happened in the past. Which meant that she had been telling the truth about her memory being wiped. The real question was who had tampered with Vivian's memories and why.
I needed to figure out what was going on with Vivian's memories. The real task was getting her alone long enough for Gabriela and I to run some diagnostic spells on her. If there really was someone tampering with Vivian's memories then that meant there was a lot more going on than we had originally thought. Given her lack of memory someone could easily be controlling Vivian. From what we know, the only person who worked for Vivian prior to the war was Wren. According to Vivian, Wren still had all of her memories intact, although as far as I know she wasn't at the castle when we had rescued Astrid, Jayden and Ivy. Wren hadn't even been at the castle leading up to the rescue from what I could remember.
"Aurora!" Jasmine snapped her fingers in front of my face causing me to jump.
"Finally! What's going on? You just froze the second you got in here." Her hand caressed my jaw as she tilted my chin up.
"Vivian, she's letting Gabriela, Storm and I take her home." I said in complete disbelief.
"What do you mean she's letting you take her home?" Jasmine looked completely baffled as she tried to get more out of me.
My brain felt stuck as I tried to find the words to explain what was going on. I myself couldn't even process what was happening. Never in a million years would I have thought Vivian would let Jayden walk freely through the castle gates. After everything that had happened I thought I knew who Vivian was, now though I wasn't so sure. Maybe this kind motherly version of her was her true self, maybe if her mind hadn't been tampered with we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.
"Sorry I meant that Gabriela and Storm had planned to go back home for the night. I'm assuming it's to discuss everything that's been going on, but they told Vivian it was so Storm could visit her siblings. Anyway Storm started talking about her sisters and Jayden said she would like to meet them sometime. Which then led Vivian to suggest inviting them here." As I explained I watched as Jasmine's eyes began to widen.
"Hold on, she just offered to have them all come here?" Jasmine looked skeptical about the situation.
"Yeah but then she just said Jayden could go with them. Which means her memory is actually gone, she's definitely not faking it. There's absolutely no way Vivian would willingly let her go if she knew what had happened in the past. If this situation wasn't so fucked up I'd be happy to just leave things how they are." I let out a deep breath I hadn't realized I had been holding in.
"So are you guys going?" Jasmine asked anxiously, I could tell by the tone of her voice that she wasn't happy about the two of us leaving.
"Yeah I have to go, there's no way I could say no to her. Plus Vivian wants me to escort her anyway for safety reasons. I just don't know what's going to happen when we show up. The Avery's are going to have a complete melt down when they see Jayden and it's going to cause so much confusion. On top of that Jayden is going to know something is up when she sees Astrid and Dylan. She literally looks like a carbon copy of the two of them. I have no idea what to do and quite honestly I feel like I'm having a panic attack." My heart was pounding in my chest as my mind continued to spin, Jasmine's arms wrapped around my waist pulling me tightly against her chest. "And to top it all off we still haven't even gotten to speak to her about everything." I sighed as I rested my head against her chest.
