Jayden (POV):

The light breeze from my ceiling fan washed over my skin, as I let my body sink into my mattress. My muscles were worn out from the long training session I had spent with Kellan. It had been awhile since I had felt this worn out, but I figured it was because I had slacked on my training slightly since Aurora had arrived. Not that it was her fault, there was just something about her that distracted me to the extreme. Which is why I needed to talk to her as soon as possible, I wanted to get to the bottom of this whole mate thing.

"Jayden?" A familiar voice called out from the other side of my bedroom door.

"Doors open just come in!" I called out, there was no way I was moving currently. The door opened slightly and Aurora poked her head in the room.

"Hey, do you have a minute to talk?" Aurora asked before stepping into the room.

"Yeah of course, I have something I wanted to talk to you about anyway. Come sit down." I said motioning to spot beside me.

"What did you want to talk to me about?" Aurora asked with a smile as she climbed onto my bed.

"Actually hold that thought, do you mind if Jasmine joins us?" She chewed nervously on her lower lip.

"You've been in contact with her?" I said propping myself up on my elbows.

"Kind of? I ran into her on the beach." Aurora sounded as though she was being careful with how she was wording things.

"Oh okay, yeah she can join us. Do you want to head over to the beach now?"

I will admit I was a tad jealous that Aurora had gotten to see Jasmine again. It had been a bit since I had seen Jasmine last, and being away from her had left an indescribable sadness within me. Which was also another reason I wanted to get to the bottom of this whole mate situation. There was a more than likely chance that one of them was my mate.

"Nope I'm already here" Jasmine said, appearing out of thin air.

Well I thought it was Jasmine until I got a good look at the woman who was standing in front of me. The woman standing in front of me had long black hair that was as dark as the night sky. Her eyes were a deep red that looked almost like blood. She was also significantly taller than Jasmine was and she had large black wings that were tucked neatly behind her.

"Woah what the fuck! Who are you?!" I screeched as I toppled onto the floor with a thud.

"Jay, are you okay?!" Aurora and Jasmine asked in sync as they hurried around the side of the bed.

"I'm all good!" I said, popping up onto my feet.

"You just startled me, that's all, but seriously you can't be Jasmine." I rubbed the back of my neck as I settled back on my bed.

"Well that's kind of one of two things we wanted to talk to you about. The woman you met on the beach was me, I was in disguise at the time. This is what I actually look like, I'm assuming just by looking at me you can understand why I disguise myself." Jasmine chuckled as she flexed her wings.

I watched as she stretched out her wings as far as she could inside the room, the feathers were so long and looked incredibly soft. I had to resist the urge to reach out and touch them. Each feather was so black that they almost didn't even look real. I could easily understand why she couldn't go out in public like this. If a human saw her there would be absolute chaos, unlike Aurora and I, Jasmine's physical attributes made her stick out like a sore thumb.

"What are you exactly? I've never seen anyone who looks remotely like you." I said completely awestruck, I found it hard not to stare at her wings.

"I'm a fallen angel" She shrugged like that wasn't a big deal at all.
