Julie Criss had absolutely peaked in highschool, or at least that was it looked in the outside.
She dated an asshole, hang out with dumb boys and girls that liked to laugh at and bully innocent people and only wanted to drink and throw parties. She was never really okay with it, but she never did a damn thing about it, and she hates herself for it.
After graduation, she had enough and kicked all of them out of her life, but it seems like karma hit her hard.
She felt like a failure. She was now twenty three and was trying to do something useful with her life.
It was friday night, and Julie had no plans since all her friends were bussy and didn't want to date anyone for at least a decade, so she goes alone to a local bar and sits alone and drink while she sees the show, and guess who it is, Lana freaking Sunderland. How did that girl went from being a bullied ugly and shy girl to this beautiful, hot, confident and incredibly talented superstar. When she was sixteen, she ended up on girlband of four with her friends of the same age, and they were a complete success. Lana wrote all the songs and was completely desired by both girls and boys, and why wouldn't she? With that body, that dark brown long wavy hair, thrown to the side, those shiny green eyes and charming smile. She imposed so many fashions, because she would always change the way she would dress on stage. Charismatic, amazing voice, plays many instruments and is incredibly hot to people for some reason.
Julie was happy for her, and it felt like justice that someone like her, who went through so much, was now so succesful. It was poetic that most of her bullies were now failures and now, she's just now beloved by everyone.
However, after the band went on a break last year, she had suddenly dissapeared."Hi everybody" The people in the bar weng crazy. She was just wearing black jeans, black boots, a gray shirt and a black leather jacket. Holding a shiny purple electric guitar, classic of her. "I'm Lana Sunderland, for those who don't know me. I know it's kinda crazy to see me here today, I've been... well, I was on a break. But this past months I've been thinking about how I'm going to do with my solo career, wich I know people have been waiting and... I'm just going to say that I'm already working on some things, some songs..." The whole croud cheered. There were like 200 people on the crowd, and Julie kept asking herself why here and if she had announced. "But that's not why I'm here today. You should know that I'm a really good friend with the owner of the bar, and this is actually the bar where I was discovered, and since it's been six years since that day, I felt like playing again here, what do you say?" Of course, the response was yes, and she begin to play a song from their last album, Bring Me Home, a soft rock song written by her that hit the #1 spot on the Hot Billboard and stayed there for foue weeks.
There was something different today. Julie wasn't a fan, but she loves to see award ceremonies, and of course, they would play every year, and every year she would be tendency #1 on twitter globaly. But it always seemed like she was on stage with her friends and yeah, she was great, but it wasn't really professional. This felt more intimate, her voice sounded kinda devastated, and she could relate to the lyrics. About wanting to go home, but not actually having one. The crowd cheered like crazy again. "Alright, thank you so much guys!" When Lana walked off stage, she sat pretty close to Julie and begin to take some pictures as she waited for her drinks, and Julie noticed that Lana had glanced at her a couple of times, trying to figure out who she was. Julie didn't think anything of it, of course, but she suddenly heard Lana's voice."Excuse me, do I know you?" Julie turned to look at Lana, and didn't know what to respond.
"We went to the same highschool. I'm pretty sure you've seen me before..." Lana curled her lips a little bit and nodded.
"I think I do. But I didn't have nice experiences in highschool, so I tend to... block those memories, my apologies" Julie shrugged her shoulders. For some reason, she was nervous.
"Don't apologize, we never talked in highschool anyway I guess. Maybe just a 'hi' or something"
"You dated this blonde guy... what was his name?" She asked.
"John. His name was John"
"Yeah, John. Could you believe I had a crush in that guy? He was a complete asshole, I thank god every day that he was just messing with me that time he asked me out. I can't believe I liked that cheap copy of a backstreet boy" Julie burst out a small laugh. "I'm guessing you didn't have a nice experience with him either"
"No. I mean... at first he was really sweet and nice, but he showed his true colours eventually"
"They always do..." Lana said. "I was this close to put a restraining order to him... for some reason, he thought I would actually date him after what he did. I remember Carl, my first boyfriend beat the crap out of him" Julie looked at her confused.
"Wait... it had been your boyfriend who beat the crap out of him? Damn, if you see him again, please tell him I say thank you" The singer burst out a laugh. God, her laugh is just so contagious. But then she got serious for a reason and stayed on silence, and she heard her name.
"Listen, I gotta go..."
"Julie"
"Julie" Lana repeated as she stood up. "It was nice seeing you, Julie. I guess I'll see you around" She said with a grin on her face. God, her grin is in fact adorable.
"Yeah, bye..."
What had happend? Had she... been cassually talking with a fucking global superstar that actually remembered her face? Oh boy...
