Another weekend arrived, and Lana was throwing another party, this time on her mansion. She invited more people this time, including Julie and some of her friends. For some reason, she trusted Julie and wanted her around. It's not common for her to trust someone so quick, much more given their past, but she just trusts her. She took a shower and tried to look her best, wearing a white skirt and a ocean blue cross top.
Julie had texted her and had told her she would be late, and after talking a little bit with her friends, she was intercepted by Sean, one of the guys she has slept a couple of times. Blonde and with blue eyes, an amazing body and gorgeous face.

"I haven't seen you in a while" He said.
"Well, that's because you've barely shown up here" She said, and her eyes were looking for someone.
"Yeah, I've been busy" He placed a hand on her neck. "I don't know what it is about you besides the obvious, but you're the only girl I can't stop thinking about" Lana rolled her eyes, but the truth is, Sean was being honest. Sean grabbed her by the hand and dragged her to her bedroom, locking the door behind the. "How about if is just the two of us tonight? I've heard that you've been... well, pretty interested in threesomes lately, but you know I can only focus on you when we're together"
"Shut up already" Lana kissed him and they had amazing sex on her bed. But she just got dressed and got outside afterwards, and she saw Julie talking to Nick, and a ginger girl was next to her.

"Hi" She said.
"Hey, this is Nina" Julie said, and Lana shook Nina's hand.
"Nice to meet you" Nina said.
"Nice to meet you too"

They all started dancing and drinking, playing pool together and talking about the dumbest things you could think off. At one point, Julie felt like she needed some fresh air and went outside to sit the porche stairs.
When Lana noticed she was gone, she begin to look for her. When she found Julie, she sat next to her.

"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I just needed some air" She replied. Truth was, Nick had told her about Sean and Lana, and for some reason, that bother her.
"I might be being an asshole for bringing this up now but... have you find your inspiration"
"No. And I'm focusing on work right now, I'm just going to take a break from that for a while" She said.
"What do you do for living?" Lana asked.
"Well... I have this job as a receptionist. It pays pretty well, I made some friends there, and it's not so boring. Plus, my second book did okay on sales. I still get payments from it. I'm saving up to buy an apartment, I'm pretty close to it"
"Oh..."
"How about you? Have you find some inspiration?" Lana smiled.
"A little bit. It just came to me, you know? I was able to write a song last weekend, and I think I want to make an album of that style. Maybe I'll explore with some other genres, but I'm gonna take my time. It's for the best" She said.
"Would you play it for me?" Julie asked.
"I will one day. But not yet. It's bad luck" She rolled her eyes.
"Do you like playing shows?"
"I love it" Lana said. "I really love it. But, like... going on tour. Going on tour is amazing, 'cause you know the people on the audience are mostly fans that will sing along to your lyrics. Now, award shows are different. I was usually so nervous before a perfomance like that, there was so much pressure. Something as... common as missing a note could get you a train of hate"
"But weren't you tired? I heard tours are exhausting"
"It's also exhausting to work over eight hours every day, or working four and going to an university afterwards or before. But you don't get millions for that" Lana said. It was the first time Julie heard an artist that wasn't victimizing herself, although she's the only one she knows. "Yeah sure, it was exhausting. But so is any other job. And I could stop working for ten years and still live this comfortable life, so yeah, I won't complain"

They stayed in silence for a couple of minutes, just staring at the moonlight.

"What is it with that Sean guy? Nick says you two have an interesting story" Julie said.
"It really isn't that interesting. We just met while we were shooting a music video a couple of years ago. He didn't hesitate in showing interest in me, and well... things happend. We had something, like a fling, but I ended things with him because I was on tour and had no time for dating. He shows up from time to time, you can imagine why he does"
"Why don't you just... date?" She said.
"You know, I don't really do dating now. I have a really messy life right now, and there's just no way it's going to end up well"
"Why are you so sure?" Julie asked, confused.
"Because I am. To be honest, I was always like... someone who searched for love, who wanted a love story, and I do like Sean, like... I like him a lot. But right now, I want to enjoy being single. I know relationship usually don't last in this environment, there would be constant gossip and rumors about cheating and that crap. And I'm like... deep inside, I'm still that ugly kid who thought she would never be liked. I'm not gonna lie, I enjoy being asked out by so many girls and boys. I know I will probably get bore eventually too" Julie just looked at her. "What about you? I've seen you avoid guys at parties"
"Yeah, I won't get involved with another man in at least a year"
"What happend?"
"You don't wanna know" Julie replied, but Lana smiled.
"Of course I do. Come on, talk. Let everything out, don't keep anything" Julie's eyes met Lana's. Green and mesmerizing. What the hell? She thought.
"I just... dated this older guy called Robert, we met on a rough night for me. He just showed up, he was handsome, sweet and caring. He really presented himself as some kind of hero. We started dating and he would invite me to some of his work meetings, introduced me to his family and friends. Really, I had never been so in love before. It felt different than anything I had ever felt, and I kept thinking that it could be... it, you know? Like, we would be endgame. However, his attitude changed, he became manipulative and distant, only being nice to me when he needed something. I exploded one day and dumped him. It doesn't seem like a big thing, but it really affected me. Because I loved him, and I pictured a future with him,  but I guess he was just... using me to brag about dating a young girl or something" Julie explained. It felt liberator to let everything out, but it felt even better to realize she was over it. She always felt bad when she talked about this, but this time it felt different. It felt like something that would stay buried in the past from now on, something she would officially let go off.
"Good thing you dumped that asshole in time" Lana said. "It could have gotten worse"
"I guess" They stared at the moon again, and this time, Lana rested her head on Julie's shoulder. Julie couldn't help to grin, and felt this rush on her chest. What was going?
