Two weeks had passed, and Lana hadn't respond to any calls or texts from Julie. She just let her a text telling her that she needed to think about what she really wanted, because she felt like she didn't want to be with her.
Julie was really down, and really did not want to tell anyone about her and Lana, but she needed to speak to someone about it, so she went to Nina's apartment.
"I need to talk to you" she said. They sat on her couch and Julie told her everything from the start. Nina stared at her friend confused. She already couldn't believe she was friend with Lana Sunderland and went into her parties, but now she was also dating her?
"I can't believe this... I just can't believe it" She repeated. "My god, you're dating Lana freaking Sunderland!"
"I know, I know..."
"What is the problem now"
"I don't know how to come out. She says she's getting tired of hiding but... I'm scared"
"Scared of what?" Nina asked.
"Of everything changing"
"It's going to change eventually, Julie. But... what's more shocking is you dating Lana Sunderland, not you being bisexual. You're still the same person to me" Julie sighed in relief and laid her head on her friend's shoulder. "For the love of god, Julie, you're dating the hottest woman alive, for christ sake! Plus you're telling me she's kind, sweet and funny. You can't let that girl go, you'll regret that for the rest of your life" Nina said.
"I know that but... I'm not ready to have photographers waiting for me outside my apartment everyday. And I want to be a writer... I don't want to live in Lana's shadow forever" She finally confessed. She had been having that in the back of her head for a long, long while. "What if we go public and I never become a popular writer? I will just be Lana Sunderland's girlfriend, and I don't want that. I want to be more than that"
"Look, Lana is one of the most famous singers in the world. Even if you become a really famous author, some people will still see you as Lana's girlfriend, and that's okay, it's not the public you're aiming for, right?" Nina told her, but Julie was still confused.
"Yeah but... I don't know. If I fail at what I want, I will just be her girlfriend. And if we break up, I'll just be her ex girlfriend. And that'd be... sad"
"Look, you can't be thinking about this. It's ridiculous. Do you really think that's worthy of breaking up with someone you love? Someone who cares so much about you? Julie, you can't be serious" Nina said.
"I do not want to lose her, but I want to be my own person"
"You still can be, even if you and Lana go public. People won't read your books just because you're dating her, and even if they do, if they like it, it would be because of you" Her friend replied. Yet, it wasn't enough for Julie.
