I sit down, Als shadow handing my mug to me.
"Thank you,"
He bows, pointing to the sugar.
"Oh, uh, yes please."
He quickly gets the sugar and pours some into my mug, stirring it lightly.
"You're in a good mood, huh?"
He nods.
"Well I wish you could tell me why."
He thinks for a second before putting out a finger to tell me to wait.
Rushing off.

Odd.

I take a sip of my coffee, breathing in the steam.
I waited until 10am to even start a pot of coffee, and then charlie dragged me out with her to get some flowers for her and vaggies anniversary, so it's now 11am. Al would be happy to hear that. Vox too.

The shadow comes back in with Als staff, sitting in front of me.
"What have you got that for?"
"It gives me a voice through the static!"
"Ooo, that's awesome!"
"Al said I had 10 minutes. But I'm going with you guys to the meeting! Al doesn't let me go out to much."
"Oh? Why's that?"
"I display his full form, at all times. I can't change. And he doesn't like showing me off if he doesn't need to."
"Well that's rude. I think you're awesome."
"You're pretty awesome." He rests his head on the table. "Al talks about you a lot."
"Oh? Does he now?"
"Yeah. But he never talks about vox. I don't know why."
"Maybe he's still adjusting to the new situation.?"
"I don't know. Al doesn't talk to people about it. He only talks to me because I can't talk."
I nod.
"Usually..but I think having you both do him good. He's very..aggressive. Usually."
"That's fair. He hasn't ripped sinners apart in quite a while now."
"Yeah. And you're doing better too! You seem less tired now!"
I smile. "Yeah. I'm still trying to get used to it, but I feel better."
"I don't know vox well. He used to be okay. But he got obsessive and it was starting to become a problem. Al didn't care but I could sense him every so often. Like he was watching Al. But I guess someone can change?"
"Oh no he's definitely still obsessed. I think Al likes the sense of being needed. Without him it'd kill Vox. Al knows that. I don't know what he sees in me."
"I thought it was power. You're the king of hell. But he actually seems to like you..he was going on and on about the things he wants to help you with and wants to change to make you happier."
"But nothing about vox..?"
"Just..mind your business..thats all he said."
"I mean..you technically a part of him..so it is your business."
"He'd put me in the corner for that."
"What? For talking back? He's silly."
"He doesn't like being wrong or told things that aren't good for him."

Al walks in, looking at us. "Alright. Give me my staff."
"Awh."
"Don't awh me. Hand it over."
"Al..I wanna talk to him!"
"Nope, I need my staff or I'm gonna sound atrocious."
"You mean without the static? I think you sound fine. Pleaseee."
"Noooo. Charlie will never let me carry that thing around if she hears me right now."
He takes his staff and and clears his throat.
"Rude."
"Mmm. You knew precisely what you were getting into so, I don't want to hear it,"
"Blah blah blah, can I have more coffee?"
"Nope,"
"Whyyyyyy."
"Because. 10am you get one cup. Thats it. It's going to help you once you're used to it."
I sigh. "Okay."
