Chapter 30 (New Villains!?)

Kacchan POV

I walked into the room full of people pretty upset. 'So, Yumi's just gonna act like she didn't see me? What's her problem!' My angry thoughts were cut short by the red hair kid who keeps following me around, walking over to me.

"Hey, Bakugo. I need to talk to you." he said with a serious look. "What is it, dumb hair?" I asked. "It's about Yumi... Have you noticed her acting strange? I mean, she doesn't even talk to you anymore." Kirishima said. I growled in frustration. "...Obviously. I'm not stupid. Of course I've noticed her ignoring me...." I angrily said.

"You see her over there." I said. We watched Yumi smiling with her classmate Uraraka. "She looks like nothing is wrong with her, but that's not the case. She likes to hide her feelings a lot. She's just smiling to hide the fact that something's bothering her. And it's clear that that thing has something to do with me." I explained.

"So, dude. Why don't you talk to her then!? You're obviously upset about it too and you're the only one she'll answer to. Believe me, I've tried." Kirishima said. "Tch. Please. You think I care if she's not talking to me. I'm not some baby who's lost without their mommy. If she wants to talk, she'll come to me." I said.

"Now who's the one hiding their feelings? What are you so afraid of?" Kirishima asked, growing frustrated. I growled and just walked away. 'That bastard gets on my nerves....probably because I know he's right. It's pissing me off that she's not talking to me anymore! Ugh! I can't stand her!' I thought.

Yumi's POV

And in a nick of time, all of our classmates have passed the first part of the test!

"Alright! Those of the 100 people who have passed, please turn your attention to the screen." Mera said over the intercom. The screen showed the testing area. Then all of a sudden, the terrains began exploding and falling apart, as if an attack happened.

"This is the final test of the exam. Your goal is simple. Undertake rescue exercises and save the bystanders who are trapped in these disaster sites." Mera said. "Save the what now?" Kaminari and Mineta asked, confused. "Bystanders. We learned about them in class, remember?" Hagakure said.

"They're the people that just so happen to be caught up in the disasters." I said. "It's also referred to as citizens on the street." Yaoyorozu said. "Use this time to show us how you will carry out successful rescue procedures once you receive your provisional licenses. Treat this as if it was the real thing." Mera said.

"Look. On the screen." Shoji said. Everyone was shocked at what they saw. "Little kids and old people!? That's so dangerous! Why are they here?" Sugar man asked. Mera explained that the people we saw were just actors called the HUC, short for the "Help Us Company". "The HUC bystanders have dressed up as injured victims of a crisis and will be located throughout the disaster site.

We'll be judging how well you keep them safe as you go about your mission. Oh, by the way. We'll be scoring you on a point system. If you have more points than the benchmark at the time the exercise ends, then you pass the exam. We'll start in ten minutes. Take care of any necessary preparations now." Mera said.

I went to sit by myself in the corner when Todoroki, of all people, walked up to me. "Hey, Yumi." he said. "Uh...hey. You need something?" I asked. "That guy over there, from Shiketsu...Do you know if he has a problem with me?" Todoroki asked.

I paused before answering. 'Todoroki never talks to me. Actually, he can't stand me. I wonder why he's changing his attitude.' I thought. "You mean that Inasa Yoarashi guy?" I asked. Todoroki nodded. "Why ask me?" I asked. "I just thought you might know him. Back at the bus, your face seemed like you knew him or that you remembered him from somewhere." Todoroki said.
