Chapter 35 (What Happened?)

Two days later, Izuku's three day house arrest was now over and he joined us at school. In class today, we talked about Work Studies again.

"Good morning." Aizawa said. "Now that Midoriya is back, we'll go into more detail about work studies. Go ahead and come in." Aizawa turned to the door and it slid open. Three students that I recognized walked in.

The boy leading the three had yellow hair with his tongue sticking out in a silly way, the girl following behind him had light purple hair and was smiling big, and the last boy behind them had navy blue hair with his head down and his hands in his pockets.

"I'll have people who've experienced them firsthand explain. I suggest you listen carefully as they point out how work studies differ from internships."

Izuku started freaking out as he recognized the three students as well.

"These are third years at U.A. They rank at the very top of our student body. You may know them as...The Big Three."

Everyone in the class began to praise the students standing in front of the class.

'The Big Three...I remember seeing them in the sports festival last year at Izuku's house when I was watching it with him. None of them got placed, but the guy with yellow hair definitely made a big impression on me, for sure." I thought.

"Go ahead and introduce yourselves briefly. Let's start with Amajiki." Aizawa suggested.

The boy with the navy blue hair gave us an intense look then started trembling.

"It's no good. You two go. I just can't. Even if I picture them and potatoes, I can still see their human bodies. I know they're still humans. No words are coming out. My mind's blank and my month's dry...I wanna...go home." Amajiki turned around and faced the wall.

Everyone was taken aback by this weird and nervous behaviour from someone who's supposed to be so strong. I smirked.

'New target acquired.' I thought.

"Come on, Amajiki. You're supposed to have the heart of a lion, not a kitten." The girl with purple hair said. "This is our kitten, Tamaki Amajiki, and, hi, my name is Nejire Hado. I'm supposed to talk about work studies.

You first years have a really exciting time ahead of you. Hey, wait, hold on. Why are you wearing a mask? Is it because you're sick, or is it just to look cool?" Hado asked Shoji.

Then she started asking everyone in the class questions.

"Hey! You're Todoroki, aren't you? How'd you get that burn on your face? And Ashido! If your horns break off, do you think they'll grow back? And Mineta, are your balls your hair or what? I don't get it. How do you get a haircut?

Takayumi! How does it feel to teleport? And how did it feel to get captured by villains? Oh, oh! Asui, you're tree frog and not a gross toad, right!? Oh, there's so many questions I want to ask! Let's have a Q and A."

"Aw. She's a total airhead. Even cuter!"

I was kinda annoyed by her personal questions so I asked her one. "I got a question! Why are you asking-"

"Hey, Ojiro! Can you support your whole body weight with your tail?" Hado had cut me off and started asking another question!

'I was talking, ya know?' I thought, annoyed.

It seems like Aizawa was annoyed too, because he had an icy glare on his face. "This is completely irrational." he growled.

"Oh! Don't worry, Eraser Head. My turns next and I'm gonna get us back focused. The future is gonna be...!" The boy with yellow hair wanted us to finish his sentence, but we didn't know how to finish it.

"Gonna be what?" Kaminari asked.

"Awful! That's your part, guys! Oh man! My call and response was a total fail! Hahaha!" The boy with yellow hair laughed off his failure and got down to business. "Okay, so you guys look like you have no idea what's going on.

I guess we third years just showed up in your classroom to explain a program that's completely voluntary. I can see how you'd be confused by that. Hm. You guys got your provisional licenses as first years, right.

Huh! This batch of new students has proven to be pretty darn energetic. So then that means you guys must not have a sense of humor and that's why my joke didn't land."

"Don't do it." Amajiki said, still facing the wall.

The boy raised his fist in the air. "Heads up! The rad new plan is for all you first year to fight me at once!"

"Huh? Huh!?"

'This guy wants to fight me, huh? He's got another thing coming.' I thought.

We all got dressed and headed to Gym Gamma.

Yeah. So, long story short, the guy with yellow hair (Mirio Togata) was kinda too strong for us. It was quite frustrating. I figured out how to counter his attacks, but he countered my counter and still punched everyone in the gut in order to knock us out. His quirk is permeation and he gave us a nice speech on working hard.

School was now over and I was walking back to the dorms when Izuku and Kirishima ran up behind me.

"Hey, Yumi!" They yelled.

"So, what happened? I saw you at Bakugo's room yesterday." Kirishima asked.

"Oh, well, about that. Haha. Yeah, so I went to his room..." I started.

"Yeah?" They both said with anticipation.

"And I apologized..."

"Okay!" They said with the same tone.

"And I told him that I liked him."

"WHAAAAAAAAAT!?" they both yelled in disbelief.

"Dude, you like Bakugo?" Kirishima asked.

"I'm surprised you didn't know. You're literally the person I'm closest to in the class besides Izuku and Kacchan." I said.

"Wait, so you told Kacchan how you felt about him?" Izuku asked in a shocked tone.

"Yeah...B-But only after he asked for a reason about why I ignored him."

"What'd he say?" Izuku asked.

"Weeeell...I actually ran out of there before he could answer me."

"YOU RAN AWAY!!!???" They both yelled.

"I'm sorry! I panicked! He was so close to my face and he wouldn't take no for an answer, so I just blurted it out!" I said super fast.

"You're crazier than I thought you were, Yumi." Kirishima said with a smirk.

"I'm happy for you. There's no doubt in my mind that you would be a perfect match for him." Izuku said, smiling.

"Why are you happy? We still don't even know if he feels the same way about me." I said.

"Oh, trust me. He feels the same." They both said.

After everyone went to bed, I went out to the courtyard to get my mind off of everything that was going on in my life. I needed some fresh air. All Might's secret, my feelings for Kacchan, and now work studies...Things were just weighing down on me and it was not a great feeling.

I walked around the water fountain and looked at the flowers, taking in the scenery. I sat down on the edge of the fountain and let out a big sigh.

"Getting some fresh air, huh?"

I heard a deep voice behind me. When he came around the fountain, I got a little nervous because it was Kacchan!
