Chapter 12 (Wrapping Up The Sports Fest)

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around. 

'Where am I?' I thought. 

Then memories of my match against Kacchan jogged my memory. 

'Oh, that's right. I fought Kacchan...I must be in the infirmary.'

I sat up in my bed and put my head down. Memories of everyone beating me in the festival flashed in my head. I grinded my teeth. 

"Dang it. I lost. Again." I said.

I felt frustrated tears start falling down my face.

"Does this mean...I'm not strong after all? I'm not the best at UA? Dang it." 

Just then I heard a knock on my door. I quickly wiped my tears before responding. 

"Come in!" I said. 

A familiar redhead walked in.

"Hey, Yumi! How ya doing?" 

"Kirishima! Sup. I'm alright." I responded. 

"You put up a great fight against Bakugo. I had no idea you were that strong." 

"Thanks! But I still couldn't beat him. Guess I'll have to train even harder." I said enthusiastically.

"Hey, so aren't you up against him next?" 

"Nah. We already fought. I lost." Kirishima said. 

"Wait what!? How's that possible?" 

"After your match you had some major fatigue from that big finishing move you did. Recovery Girl healed your injuries and let you rest, but because her quirk drains your stamina and you already barely had any stamina left, you were out for almost the rest of the festival." Kirishima explained.

"Whoa, crazy...So what's going on now?" I asked. 

"Bakugo is about to fight Todoroki in the finals." 

I gasped. 

"That's actually the reason I came in here. To come get you so you could come see it." 

"Aw. Thanks." 

"Alright! Your body is still pretty weak, so you can just get on my back. I'll carry you there."

"You're a great guy, Kirishima. Thanks a bunch." I said. 

I climbed on Kirishima's back and he ran us to the stance to watch Kacchan and Todoroki.

Todoroki slid across the stage on his ice to prevent himself from going out of bounds. 

"Todoroki surfs an ice wave to avoid going out of bounds! Looks like fun!" Present Mic said. 

"Aw crap! They've already started!" Kirishima said.

"It's cool. Can you sit me in a seat?" I asked nicely. 

Kirishima sat me down next to Kaminari and sat next to me. 

"Hey, Yumi! You all healed up?" Kaminari asked. 

"Recovery Girl healed all my injuries, but my stamina is completely drained." I answered.

"I can see why it would be. Your fight was amazing!" Tsu said. 

I scratch my head sheepishly. 

Kacchan ran at Todoroki but he grabbed his arm and threw him aside.

"Stop screwing around. What, do you think I'm not worthy enough of your fire?" Kacchan said. 

"Bakugo timed his explosion and grabbed Todoroki's left side on purpose. He's done his research. His aptitude has gotten even sharper. Todoroki has been doing well so far but his attacks are too simple. It's almost like he lost his spark since his match against Midoriya." Aizawa said.
