Chapter 39 (What's The Right Call?)

"So, what's going on between you and Kacchan? Has anything changed?" Izuku asked me. He and I were walking home together from Nighteye's Agency.

"That was out of the blue." I put my hand on my chin and looked at the sky. "Well....We're dating now." I bluntly said.

"Oh, wow! Whoa! That's absolutely amazing, Yumi! How did it happen?" Izuku asked excitedly.

"Uh, let's not get into all the details. I do want to thank you though. Thanks to you, I was able to talk to Kacchan again and now our relationship is better than before. You know he's one of the most important people in my life, and...ya know...you are too. So, thanks." I said.

Izuku smiled and I smiled back.

"Then Izuku had to take a seal away from Sir Nighteye in order to have a chance to work with him. Izuku failed to get the seal from him, but Nighteye still accepted him." I told Kacchan. I was in his room, next to him on his bed, telling him all about what happened today.

He didn't really want to hear about it, but I forced him to listen.

"You said what!?!?" Kacchan yelled. "You're going to be working with Deku!?"

I laughed. "Sure am!"

"Deku, you bastard!" I smiled at him.

I leaned closer to Kacchan and kissed his cheek. He was shocked and stopped yelling. Before he turned his head from me, I saw him blush and I smiled again.

"Cool your head, firecracker. Didn't I tell you not to worry. You do want me to become stronger, don't you?"

"...Of course, I do." Kacchan said hesitantly.

"Then let me do this. This is nothing."

Kacchan paused. "....Yeah, you're right...That's my bad." Kacchan said in a low voice. He let out a loud sigh and laid down on his bed with his hands behind his head.

"It's nothing to stress about." I said.

I got up and bent down to the side of his bed near his face. "I'm heading to bed now. Good Night." I kissed his forehead and stood up.

While I was walking towards the door, Kacchan grabbed my wrist while still in bed and looking away from me. I gasped and looked at him.

"You should know...That I support you, 'kay."

I gasped. I almost felt my heart beat out of my chest. 'He supports me...' I turned my head back towards the door and smirked.

"Thanks..."

The next day, we were at NIghtey's agency again in our hero costumes. Izuku, Togata, and I were about to go on patrol and Nighteye explained to us the case that they're currently solving. He told us to keep a lookout for a guy who's the head leader of an organization called the Shie Hassaikai.

He said our objective would be to trail them and find out what they're up to.

The three of us headed out on patrol soon after his explanation. We were walking down the street together and people were fonding over us because we were heroes.

"This is kinda nerve racking." Izuku said.

"There's nothing to be nervous about, Izuku. It's just patrol." I said while I was waving to the bystanders that walked past us.

"What gives? You went on patrol during your internships before, right? Though, I guess I don't blame you for being shaken after what went down." Togata said.
