Chapter 52 (Operation: Hand Holding)

After a couple of weeks, it was finally the night before the school festival and we were all looking over our items to make sure everything was okay and ready to go for tomorrow.

"Whoo! I can't sleep!" Kaminari shouted.

"Yeah, right! I'm stupid excited!" Mineta shouted just as loud.

"Hey, calm down. People are sleeping." Ashido said.

"I just hope the audience will be that enthusiastic." Iida said, kinda nervous.

"Hey! It's nothing to be worried about. We put in all that practice and work. There's no way we'll screw up." I said.

"But, Yumi, you were barely at practice." Kaminari said.

"Exactly! And do you see me shaking in my pants?" I said. "I never get nervous, and do you know why? Because I'm the best. I never fail."

"You just wanted to use this situation as an excuse to brag about yourself, didn't you?" Mineta asked.

"If it's true, then I'm just stating facts."

"Yumi's right. Thinking about getting embarrassed and failing will kill our vibe. We should focus on having fun." Jiro said.

"Says the person who was embarrassed to lead the band!" Kaminari said.

"Shut up! That was a totally different situation!"

"What Yumi and Jiro said is good advice for more than just the performance." Izuku said.

I walked over to the table where Izuku and Aoyama were sitting.

"Oui." Aoyama said. "When you try to make others feel good. You end up raising your own spirits."

"Exactly."

"Would ya look at that rope? It looks terrible. Maybe take a break from the sweets, Aoyama." I

said.

"Huh!?" Aoyama yelped.

"I doubt that's the reason, but we did put it through some abuse during practice." Izuku said.

"Yaoyorozu will make another one for you. And some tea." Kaminari said in a high pitched tone.

"Yoamomo's in bed already! And don't use her as your personal factory." Ashido said.

"But you guys use me as a phone charger on a regular." Kaminari complained.

"That's cause men get no respect." Mineta said.

"It's okay. I'll go get a new one in the morning. And this'll work out. I'm up early for training anyway." Izuku said.

"The performance is at 10 tomorrow and most stores don't open until 9. That's cutting it pretty close there, bud." I said.

"There's a hardware store about 15 minutes outside of U.A that opens at 8:00. I'll go there after my morning training." Izuku said.

"Well, goodnight! I really should be hitting the sack!" Ashido said.

"Before you go, how bout we night owls make a vow. To do our best. We're gonna pull this off... and rock everyone at UA!" Kirishima said.

"Yeah!" Everyone cheered.
