"We're running again! So get going!" The gym teacher would blow his whistle, and everyone would start to run. As usual, you ran with Lisanna and Wendy.
"So, how was lunch today?" Lisanna asked you. You shot her a death glare, and gritted your teeth together. You knew that if she was there, you wouldn't have embarrassed yourself as much as you did. But at the same time, you couldn't pass the blame onto her, she wasn't even there! You sighed, and looked down as you ran.
"It was horrible. So humiliating."
"It couldn't have been that bad." Wendy tried to comfort you, her blue hair swaying as she ran. "I'm sure they didn't think of you any differently."
"Y/n, you're way too hard on yourself. Anyone would be lucky to be your friend." Lisanna smiled at you.
"You have to say that. And besides... you know how I feel." You sighed, picking up some speed.
"Alright, I'll rephrase: anyone would be lucky to be your boyfriend. Or girlfriend." She smirked a bit.
"Kill me now." You whined. Lisanna laughed a bit, while Wendy smiled weakly.
"Do you think it'll be better if you just tell him?" Wendy asked.
"Wait, how do you know what we're talking about?" You asked her.
"Well..."
"Please tell me Lisanna didn't tell you!"
"No, it wasn't Lisanna..."
"Lucy!?"
"Uhm..."
"Oh my god! Who has she been telling!?"
"Well obviously Cana based on what she was doing earlier." Lisanna sighed. "I'm all for teasing you about your crush, but Cana was a bit out of line there."
"I'm never going to show my face here again! I'm going to transfer to that fancy high school dad wants to enroll me in!"
"But what about me!?"
"I'll carry you in my backpack."
"Y/n, I don't think I'd fit."
"Then you can be my emotional support human. That's a thing, right?"
"Uhm, I don't think so." Lisanna laughed lightly. You let out a groan, and continued to run at a steady pace.
Sting, Natsu, and the other sports players got a pass for the day since it was so close to game day, for whatever reason. And not to mention, they didn't let any of the cheerleaders sit out either, which seemed hypocritical. Whatever the case was, Some of the athletes would be sitting on the bleachers, watching everyone else run around the track, while others caught up on some homework or took naps in the bleachers.
"So, how are you and Y/n getting along?" Natsu asked Sting. He shrugged, not taking his eyes off of you on the track.
"I dunno. Fine, I guess. I don't think she likes me much."
"Why do you think that?"
"She seems so tense around me. And just me. She's fine around Rogue or Yukino. You don't think my reputation from my first and second year has any influence on that, do you?"
"You seem to care a lot of what she thinks about you." Natsu laughed a bit.
"Just answer the damn question."
"When I first met her, she was like that with me too. She's come out of her shell a lot since I first met her."
"I wonder why."
